My sewing machine gears jammed.
One or more of the bushings is seized, the machine needs to disassembled, the bushings removed, cleaned, re-lubricated. Not something you can do yourself.
Fo1 main motor speed error on my espire sewing machine
Kim,
Potentially bad news with this error - could need a new motor. On the positive side, if it hasn't been serviced for a fair while, or has been in storage it may be that the oil has dried out and the shafts are "dragging", slowing the machine. Thread tangles in the takeup leaver area can also cause this in some machines. I'd suggest take it into your local sewing centre for a service.
The safety device has been activated
Turn the machine off. Check for a broken or bent needle or a bird's nest in the bobbin area. Sometimes when I try to put an extra heavy piece through the machine I' ll get that message. The most common reason for the error is a broken or bent needle.
