YES BECUASE IS DEFECTED BRING THE PAPPER WORK MAKE SURE IS PACK'D JUST THE WAY YOU GOT IT.AND DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR DON'T BUY ANYTHING MADE OUT OF PLASTIC UNLESS IS A PLASTIC CUP. WHAT'S WRONG WITH A METAL MACHINE? IF YOU BUY A METAL MACHINE YOU CAN SET IT ON A TABLE.IF YOU WORRY ABOUT MOVING IT THAN YOU CAN BUY A SMALL TABLE WITH WHEELS..
I WILL GIVE YOU A PERFECT EXAMPLE,,,WHEN YOU DRIVE ANYWHERE AND YOU SEE A CAR ACCIDENT THE FIRST THING YOU'LL SEE IS PLASTIC ALL OVER THE STREET....OK!!
Be sure to use a brand new needle.
Remove the thread from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread the upper thread. This allows the tension disk to release so the thread will seat properly. Verify that the thread path is correct.
Check that the bobbin is installed correctly (turning the proper direction in the bobbin case) and the bobbin case tension is threaded correctly.
Set the upper tension to the midway point. (This is the beginning point and may need tweaking later.)
Pull the bobbin thread to the top of the sewing project.
How and Why to Bring up the Bobbin Thread P.S.--this works with regular sewing, not just for quilting.
Lower the presser foot and test your machine. Begin sewing slowly.
If there are still issues--upper thread looping, try tightening but if it doesn't improve, the tension mechanism may not be working properly. Check and remove any thread pieces or gunk stuck in the tension mechanism. If still not working, it probably needs service.
If the bobbin thread is still not connecting with the upper thread, the sewing machine's timing is most likely off. (Search the internet for "sewing machine timing." There are multiple web sites and videos available that discuss this OR take it for service.)

Try this link for an affordable solution to repairing your Janome MC 8000 Display Back Light.https://sew-bright.com/products/janome-memory-craft-8000-lcd-backlight-replacement-kit
When your Memory Craft 8000 or MC 5700 is otherwise working fine but the LCD display screen begins to grow darker and you find you just can't read it, the only thing you can do is replace the LCD screen, or buy a new machine.Janome no longer stock this item direct, but there is an affordable replacement available.Full Access and Installation instructions are provided, so you can DIY or have someone else do the replacement for you.Check this LinkAlso includes advice, links & contacts to be able to Reset your screen and do a Self Diagnosis Routine to test your machine BEFORE you purchase a replacement LCD backlight for either the Janome MC 8000 or MC 5700, so you can check that there are no other troubles.
Do you have a manual? Most Janomes have a sealed oil system meaning you don't ever oil anything besides the little wick under the bobbin case, just one drop now and then.
I have found this happens when I need to replace the needle. It might be slightly bent, or the tip broken. Needles are cheap, so when in doubt replace the needle!
Turn on the power switch while you are pressing the start/stop key, reverse key and auto-lock key.The LCD screen indicates(Press + Mark) You should see a ( + ) on the screen. Press the center of the plus mark with a non-sharp object. The mark moves and the machine beeps.Do this until the screen says Adjustment END. Turn off the power switch. Wait 10-15 seconds and turn on the power switch and see if you can select stitches.
If this doesn't solve your problem and you can see the patterns on the screen you have another problem which will probably involve a visit to a technician either Janome or Elna trained(Model CE20)
If you can't see any patterns or they are faint then the LCD board needs to be rebuilt and an authorized Janome Dealer can remove the board, send it to Janome for a rebuild and reinstall it for you.Plan on spending more than $300 for this. If the machine works well, it is well worth if as it is a very nice machine. sewman7
my sister has the janome 8080... it's listed at the Janome web-site as the DC3050..if you go to the (specifications) of that machine it has a manual you can download for free... hope this helps
try these suggestions and see if they helpThe top thread breaks
1. the needle thread is not threaded properly
2. The needle thread tension is to tight
3. The needle is bent or blunt
4. The needle is incorrectly inserted
5. The needle thread & the bobbin thread are not set under the presser foot when starting to sew
6. the threads were not drawn to the rear after sewing
7. The thread is either to heavy or to fine for the needle
8. Try a different spool or cone of thread
Try loosening both top and bottom tension. while longer stitches are easier, it can be done on shorter stitches as well. A bennifit to shorter stitches is the gathers will be smaller and easier to work with! Remember to reset the bobbin tension before sewing again.
Manuals will be difficult to find because the companies limit themsleves to the amount of spares they make, open the slide plate and see if there is a drop feed lever, if not you may have raised plates instead.
This is a Sears Janome exclusive model. You can get a copy of the manual as a download at (the pdf download button is on hte righthttp://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals/8080LX200-Janome-Parts-SEWING+MACHINE-manual
