Need an operating manual for Simplicity, Model SW210
Sorry Angela, been looking for a manual for my Simplicity too but can't locate one either. If we don't contact manufacture for one, we may not get one. Unless someone out there has one to scan and share? Come on folks, help out!
Bobbin all pieces came out
Hello
There is a half moon- shaped item in your machine, thats your shuttle. In the machine you will see a driver, which is the other half of that- another half moon. Put the shuttle into the driver to form a complete circle. Place the race cover on the race, snap left ear to the right, right ear to the left, insert the bobbin inside bobbin case, insert bobbin case into shuttle, and you should be good to go.
Zigzag stitch only stitches on
if the zigzag stitch only stitches on the left side it's very possible that the cam or gear inside that does the zigzag stitch is either worn out or broke or damaged in some way, only a repair shop service tech can tell
Machine is very loud and jumpy
Hi,
Usually this problem occurs on machines with a front load bobbin case. If so, remove the bobbin case, the shuttle hook cover (two levers to the sides of the bobbin case area cover and shuttle hook (part the bobbin case goes on and it is ½ mooned shaped). Then clean and oil (with Q-tips and sewing machine oil NOT 3 n1 oil) the round outer area where the hook rides. No lint at all and squeaky clean. Then 3 drops of sewing machine oil in rounded groove where the shuttle hook rides. Then replace the pieces:
Replace hook:
Identify the the hook driver (still in machine), it is 1/2 moon shape. The hook is also 1/2 moon shape. If you lay the machine on its back,( it's easier). Set the hook 1/2 into the other 1/2 of the hook driver to make a circle. Then put the hook cover on (machine still on its back) with the tabs for the twist locks pointed to you. Needle gaurd on hook cover to the top of the machine. Snap the twist locks in place, replace the bobbin case and viola!
I can not figure out
First, make sure you select the straight stitch setting on the round dial. It is the one that has the dashed lines, looking like the stitch itself. Then, you may also want to be sure that the stitch WIDTH (dial with the picture that looks like a straight line gradually turning into a zig-zag) to the lowest setting, which is generally 0. With some machines, even after selecting a straight stitch setting, moving the stitch width can change needle position. Sometimes it will initiate the zig zag, other times it will move needle position left to right. Does that fix it?
My sewing machine has no power nothing is working
Basically get out your receipt or warranty card and call the dealer where you purchased it. They can give you the repair procedure. Since you have a warranty, you should not try to fix it yourself. Contact your dealer.
I can't find my manual and I need to know how to
You could try to locate a manual on the web or try sewing.about.com, there is lots of information on this website.
Sorry, I'm not familiar with this model machine at all.
But if it is an automatic buttonholer model, there is probably a special buttonhole foot in your accessory box? Is it a long white plastic device where you put a button in the back to get the correct lenth. If yes, then put it on the machine and there will also be a lever at the left side of the presser foot that you need to pull down. This buttonhole style sews the bar tack, then one side, the end tack, then the other side and works backwards from the starting point.
Now check your machine dial settings, there is probably a buttonhole icon?
You might be able to muddle through this way?
Settings
Width is one.
Length depends on the thickness of the fabric; 2.5 is the normal setting, but you may have to adjust to your liking or the age and condition of the machine you are using.
Fold a scrap of the fabric you will be sewing and test the settings, then write the settings down or on the sample for future reference.
Where do I oil?
You can only oil the moving parts that you can see very lightly with WD40
I have a siplicity sewing machine and after taking
I had a similar problem and Rick on this site was kind enough to give me some advice. Lay the machine on its side so you can just place the bobbin mechanism pieces into the bobbin shuttle area. Put the small half moon shaped piece in first, then lay the round piece in with the little notch at the bottom. Loosen the screws that hold the arms that hold the bobbin shuttle in and position them over the small 'bumps' on the bobbin housing. Once you have the arms in position, tighten till firm (not enough to strip the screws) and then set the machine upright and insert the bobbin case with thread.
I really hope I've helped you like Rick did for me.
Anna
