threads and fluff get jammed around the rotating shafts and act as a brake to moving parts
Take the machine in for a service

The "N" on your stitch dial should point or line up with the "A" on your stitch dial. It should now make a straight stitch. Hope this helps.

sounds like needle /hook timing is out
with the needle all the way down and is just about to come up the hook of the bobbin case should be just about at the eye of the needle and just above the eye of the needle
the needle should be in so that the groove in the needle is facing away from the hook and the small cut away is at the hook
timing is affected by loosening the screw on the needle shaft crank arm and adjusting the shaft up or down to position the needle correctly in relation to the hook
the condition of the thread is important as old thread will laminate and the hook will split the thread

Several things can keep your machine from turning. Thread can be jammed in the hook area, around the shaft by the hand wheel as well as near the take up lever. It is also possible you can have the machine in bobbin wind mode. That would be the first place to check.
Start with removing the bobbin then the bobbin case or bobbin basket.
Try to move the hand wheel back and forth as you do this. Then remove the cover that holds the hook in place. Remove the hook if this does not fix your machine you may need to take it in for service.

I believe this is manufactured by Brother, check at your fabric shop if they can order the part.

there could be a broken part inside, the machine needs to be serviced to find out what happened

Simplicity Denim... | Answered on Oct 21, 2013

Possibly your cord or foot control are bad. It could also be the motor that is not working. Before replacing all those parts take it to a professional to check where your problem is. I use a test panel that allows me to safely short out parts that will then light a light when the offending part is bypassed with a jumper wire.
