This machine has differential feed (top tension is different from bottom and fabric feed rate can be different from bottom). turn the dials for tension and feed rates to adjust. Adjust bottom tension to tighten bottom threads and possibly speed up bottom feed rate. Tough to say without more info.

Good luck and please rate me.

From White Sewing web site.

"Are wavy fabrics making you seasick? Do puckers leave a sour taste in your mouth? Then you need differential feed. It eliminates distortion and wavy seams when serging knits, plus it prevents puckers and pulled seams on lightweight fabrics. Turn the dial again for instant gathers.

I have a coverstitch PF857 and I have broken the

There are many adjustments which can be made: up, down, twist right or left, slide front or back. The main question is why did the looper break? The needlebar, upper and lower looper and the needle guard all must be in perfect syncronization. The upper looper must be set so that, on its movement to the right, ever so slightly brushes the needles. Then, as it travels upward, it must cross behind the lower looper at just the right spot as close as possible without touching. If you are very mechanically inclined, give it a shot. If not, the risk of further damage is high.

My 1600 is skipping stitches.

Either the looper timing or clearance is off. You will need to have a techinician look at it. Unless you have the knowledge and the correct tools and gauges it is not something that you could probably do.
I have been working on these machine for 25 years.

Blades need replacing.

If there is a joann fabrics store nearby, they have them. I think you can also order them online:

The threads are no longer looping

To thread the overlock you start with the inner most looper first, then the outer looper, then the inner most vertical needle and then the outer. This is the order: | | | | #4 #3 #1 #2 You have to ensure that the lower looper (the furthest one out) has the thread going over the slightly higher looper, the first one you did. If you do this you will be making a stitch. To make the loops fall close to the material is simply a case of altering the tensions on all the needles - I have to do this with my wifes machine. Once I have the tensions for her machine I'll be able to pass them on to you although every machine is different it may give you a starting point. I will try and perform this task this weekend - I'll be online next week and perhaps we can chat and I can send you our tension levels. I hope this helps.. my wife sews and I re-thread - she won't go near the inside of the machine and I won't try to sew :) BXL830

Knocking noise

too little info. but a common cause of knocking is the loopers hitting or rubbing each other, an out of time issue. unfortunately i would recommend that you take it to a qualified repair shop to avoid greater damage.

Your machine isn't threaded properly. Check to make sure #1, you have it threaded right and #2 the thread on all 4 spools is in between the tension dials. Good Luck and Hope this helps.
