Linking hand set to base.
After the question "Link handset?", enter "Yes" (by moving the "review" or "next" button) ;
then the words "Waiting Handset Registration"
appear, wait a few seconds, then the question "Default Setting?", enter "2No" ...hope this helps.
Clearing memory
I had an answering machine that did this. If you didn't tell it to delete a message after listening to it it would automatically save all recordings until it filled up and would no longer record. You need to listen to saved messages and delete each one. There may be a way to clear all but I do not know this. If you have a message delete or erase button try holding that down for a few seconds.
I have a GE model #29893GE1-B it is connected and plugged in, but no dial tone
Remove all the phones on the system. Remove all the handset batteries. Plug in one old style corded phone to the main phone jack, it is normally the one closest to the front door. Do you have dial tone? If not, it is your Telco. If you have a dial tone, plug all the other phones in testing for a dial tone as you go.
