My dryer is squeeking and grinding, but not all
One of two issues is going on, or maybe both. The first cause for the grinding noise is going to be the main bearing that is bad, and needs to be replaced. The squeaking is actually coming from the belt. So I would check under the unit and make sure that you do not have any metal shavings under the unit. Then also check the belt
How do i connect the wires on my GE dryer from a 3
The following link explains how to properly convert a 3-prong power cord to a 4-prong:

The main difference is how the Neutral and Ground wires are terminated. In a 4-wire configuration, the Ground and Neutral are INDEPENDENT of each and are NOT terminated together.
Match the correcsponding wire colors at the terminal block and make sure the grounding strap (if installed)on the Neutral (White) terminal is removed. The ground wire will be connected separately to a ground lug on the equipment cabinet.
NOTE: If the wires are not color coded, the outer two wires (left and right) are the HOT leads. The center conductor is Neutral.
If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.
My maytag neptune dryer makes a buzzing sound but
its either a loose belt, (very easy to sort out as most tumble dryers use the motor on a pivot to tension the belt.)
if its not a loose belt its most likely to be the carbon brushes inside the motor that have worn down and are now making poor contact with the motor itself.
if your not confident to have ago at fixting these yourself, most repair shops should be able to-do this for you in 10 - 20 mins tops and it should not cost a fortune either.

Belt installation
HI, Looking at the idler assembly from the back, move the idler wheel to the left (spring loaded).
Slip the belt on the motor pulley with ribs touching pulley. Now let the idler pulley rest againdt the back side of the belt.
I hope this helps you.
Please let me know if I can help further.
