Will not dry

Hi, I experienced the same problem with my Maytag electric dryer. The problem was finally resolved after I found a mouse had built a nest in the actual vent pipe (which allows air to discharge to the outside of your home). Once I removed this mouse next, my electric dryer worked perfectly. In the winter time, mice love nice warm places and a dryer's vent pipe is very attractive. Just a thought. Good Luck!

I have this same problem and have found that if I disconnect the vent to prevent cold air from coming in, the problem goes away, but it takes about 2 hours to warm up. In addition, I tried putting a hair drying pushing air back through the dryer's vent intake into the dryer itself, and this took an hour.

Some reading indicates it might be a faulty thermal fuse, but it isn't clear.

Did you every find a solution to your problem?

My GE profile model

Recheck breaker turn the breaker all the way off and then reset the breaker. Then try a different cycle. like air only or something different than you normally use and see if it works then. Motor could be out or The control switch. Make sure you are looking at a double pole 220 breaker. hope this helps.

My GE Profile Harmony dryer won't dry. The drum

Frequently there's an obstruction in the vent duct from the dryer to the outside of the house. For the dryer to heat properly, the duct must be clean and clear of lint or any other substance. Your dryer has some internal ductwork. If it gets clogged, your dryer can't dry properly. In most dryers, to get to the internal ductwork to clear the clog, you have to substantially disassemble the dryer. A quick way to check for internal clogs is to remove the lint filter and use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the duct.
