GE Zoneline heating limits

would be easier to get those temps using the outdoor portion of the system, however, not too many companies build thermostats that reach that range

The gfci tripswhen i turn my ptac to heat what is

The gfci is short for the ground fault circuit interrupter. This prevents voltage from the hot side of your AC circuit to feed through to the case. This would mean somewhere within, a wire may be touching the frame. You should not try to live with this situation. One quick check might be to reverse the plug in the receptacle. If this does NOT cause the GFIC to trip, then the short must be found and insulated with electrician's tape.

Cool button on but computer thinks its on heat. It

If this is a heat pump unit, there is probably a problem with the four way reversing valve or its solenoid sticking in the heat position.

GE zoneline heat not working

You need to have some one check the continuity of the thermal fuses at the plug where it plugs into the side of the control box. It's a two pin plastic white plug with black fabric covered wires coming out of the plug, you should have about (0) resistance or maybe 1 ohm. If you have no reading at all you will have to pull the heating coils out. Not a big job but, the unit must be removed from the wall as you have to take off the long top metal plate. Remember you do this only if you have to get to the coils. You can get the the plastic plug with out removing the unit but unplugging the plastic plug this may be a little tough but, you can do it. Make sure you pull the Power plug out of the unit or out of the wall before testing for continuity. I hope this helps. I put a picture below. It's the only one I have. On the right of the unit under the control panel there is a metal box you can see the front if it in the picture. Most units have this box on the right side. On the left side of the box are the plugs for heat, fan and Thermal fuses. There maybe another plug with yellow wires. the plug with the 2 black wires is the one you want. Squeeze the side of the plug to unlock the plug then just pull out and test.V6boyo 1_10_2013_6_39_51_pm.jpg

How do i charge a AMANA Ptac with R22 freon

Also, if you get caught working on ANY freon based refrigeration without a license, you could face a large fine. Freon isn't $3 per pound anymore, it's quite expensive and you don't want any of it wasted. Have a licensed technician do the work. He will know exactly how much refrigerant your system needs, and he can remove what's there and add to it.
