GE APH10AA Air Conditioner Questions & Answers
Temperature setting rises up by itself no matter
Most window units are circuit board controlled. Most all electrical circuits like the fan motor, compressor, and heating, are powered through the circuit board, and distributed through different circuits in that board(control board). I would guess you have a circuit board malfunction. It's possible the thermostat is sticking, allowing the control board to misread a return air temp. Without some troubleshooting it will be difficult to pinpoint the problem but I'd bet it's one of the two.
Line voltage to the unit is too low
it sounds you know something about electricals...okay,try to put the cord from the unit to your lower arm and feel it if it is getting warmer in temperature,or the switch cover of your a/c wall switch.if not it`s better you have clamp meter for ampere testing and voltage measurment
GE APE07AHM1 Won't Run
This unit has a famous problem with the control panel. Try to use the remote to turn it on, instead of the panel. I had the same problem.

Where do i put the
If its a AC unit, you add no water. If its a humidifier you add water, but you do not want humidity this time of year.
The fan in my unit is making excessive noise.
I would check fan motor for oil ports and add a few drops of machine oil if they are there. Check fan blades and clean as good as possible. If you can hold on to fan and move motor shaft back and forth more then 1/8 inch then the bearing on yhe motor are worn and you will need to replace the motor. Thank you.
I emptied the water and
you will need to find the sensor/switch, which is in the housing where the drain bucket is located, it is either stuck or shorted. Good Luck Tim
My ge window unit is blowing lots of water out the
You might try running the fan on a lower speed so that it does not blow so hard. Also, you appear to be in a high humidity area. Continue to run the unit to cool the room and as the humidity drops, The amount of water the unit is making will be reduced thus curing your problem.
Ac unit does not want to cool. Filter is
Hello there"
There are a couple of things here that you can try first is to geta garden hose and spray the entire back of the unit and flush it out really good cause if air cant get into there it will not work properly then make sure that it can drain properly once this is done test the unit out and see if this has helped but if not then take the front cover off the unit and you will see a small tube attached to the front of the unit if you can slide out the tube from the holder and as the unit is running on the coldest setting hold onto the end of the tube the heat from your hand will cause the termostate to attempt to make the compressor deliver more refrigerant this normally takes around 5 min but if there is no change than this is telling you that you have a low charge of refrigerant and should be refilled cause if you do not get it filled to the right amount of refrigerant you can burn up the compressor ok but if it does seem to work i would move the tube to a different area if possiable generally along the edge seems to work the best or i have even seen them left out of the part that they were connected to so that it is not continously resting on the unit and pointed down ok
Hope this is all very helpful for you please keep me posted on how the repairs are coming along
Best regards Michael
Water dripping from vents
The air temperature is cooling the vents below the dew point, make sure the coil and filter are both clean, make sure the fan is clean too, if all of the above are ok it could be you just have a lot of humidity to deal with.
