Pilot light wont stay lit. Older model GE

If your furnace is older than 1978 it has a standing pilot, which means it exists full time and is not intermittent in operation requiring a spark or hot surface ignition to ignite the pilot or pilot rail leading to the main burners. If you depress the pilot valve button and light the pilot and hold it in for a minute maybe 2 and it drops out, the thermocouple is usually why. The thermocouple creates 30 millivolts of electricity, this is not very much power a millivolt is 1/1000th of one volt. The 30 mv power is enough to hold the pilot valve open after you release the button after lighting the pilot, the replacement of the thermocouple is easy and they are available at any hardware store, they come in varying lengths, it is better to get one a bit longer than not long enough, you can loop the remainder.

My GE window AC unit is actually blowing mist out of it instead of removing water from the air. I understand I cannot drill my own weep hole , but I can't have mist blowing all over my furniture. How can I fix this? The tech that came out was no help. He did not drain the water that was in there and now it stinks. Thanks for any suggestions. These are the water drops on my vents!!!

The cold evaporator will collect condensed moisture and the condensation normaly drains out the condensation drain path.
As the evaporator fins sweat, dust and particles get stuck to the moisture and fins. Dirty evaporator fins hold more moisture than clean fins. As air rushes thru the fins, moisture is blown off.
It is important to maintain clean air filters, and to treat the evaporator with evaporator cleaner as needed. The outdoor condenser also needs free air flow, periodic cleaning.
It is normal for alga to form and clog condensation pans and drains, periodic cleaning is part of their maintenance too.
There are dedicated chemicals for the maintenance of severely contaminated situations, use as directed. I prefer flushing out clean with a garden hose, persistent alga needs chemicals in cake form or spray, use as prescribed by the product.

Does water come out what if doesn't fit in window all the way

It would have cooling intake and exhaust outside air for the outdoor coil or radiator and the inside cool air inside. Tilt back so any condensation drains outside dripping in mid air. If it won't fit on the window opening, then it is too big and should not be installed without modification, a difficult situation.

I have a GE air conditioner model ASD96LKS1. The air filter, which I am told is part number WJ85X10149, broke. I am unable to find a replacement. What can you suggest?

Dear Finley, If you are in the U.S.A., I recommend you type your model number into the web-site "Searspartsdirect" and you should get the schematic of your GE a/c. I tried to do this for you, and it said that was not a good number. Perhaps a number or letter is missing. God bless your efforts.

My GE window Air conditioner model AEW24DHH1 blows really cold air at first but shuts off to soon it cools only periodically

Possible refrigerant issue, possible air flow issue. Clean the filter.
