Dishwasher not getting water
Check the solenoid on the water valve.
The water supply connects to the dishwasher water valve, two wires are connected to the solenoid. An OHM meter will tell if this is good. If good, set meter to volts and see if 110 is getting to the solenoid, you will have to turn the timer to the point where water should be coming in.

Can't get the dishwasher to start!
Sounds like the pump seal is stuck. Cut the power and look at the back of the motor. There will be a cooling fan in the end of the motor. take the fan and keep rotating it until the seals break loose.

I have a GE built-in,
your problem is in the water ,,, eather not getting enough water into dishwasher or your lower spray arm isn't turning ,,,,, i would turn the arm into a prosition that i knew where it set and turn dw on and after you hear it starting to run open the door to see if it has turned ,,,if you have a load of water but arm is in same place the arm is bad ,,, if not much water then you most likely have a bad valve / larry

Spotty dishes
There are no filters to change the hardness of your water permanently.
You really do need to acidify your water.
The best option is to store your incoming water and apply buffers.
Vinegar would indeed bring down the pH but it smells funny.
If you add citric acid then this is more like a natural remedy and has no odour.
You can buy his from brewers suppllies.
Fruit contains citric acid.
If you store the water somewhere then after a few hours the chlorine will dissipate out of the water.

Dishwasher drain hose.
Its ok to hook to the sink drain but an air gap should be inline with it to prevent sink water from backing into the dishwasher.

Ge dishwasher model gsd6900jww
Yes, there is only one motor that controls both functions.Have you checked the drain hose??? It may be clogged to some degree or where it meets either the garbage disposal or t-tailpiece, whichever you have. Also, the impeller might look good but may be worn, and check for broken glass which is hard to see in the bottom drain area at the grate. Hope this helps.

Ge dishwasher lower rack doesn't get clean
I have spent all my career in the catering and food industry with dishwashers of all shapes and sizes. The usual reason for this can be two fold.First make sure that the bottom spray arm spins freely. For various reasons they can stick and that means the spray only hits one place. If you spin it, it should spin at least 2 revolutions. Even if it does....Remove the bottom spray arm. The thing that makes it spin is the angled jets in either end. They will often block with debris, and the worst is lemon pips and cocktail sticks, even fluff. No one knows how fluff gets in there, but it does. At my last job at a VERY busy airport lounge putting literally hundreds of baskets through a day, the two filters had to be de-fluffed every day. The problem at home is that the fluff solidifies between uses. So look at those end two jets, poke with something and put water in from the jet end rinsing to the big hole in the centre. Put the plug in the sink so you can see what comes out. The turn the arm over and force a good jet of water into the big centre hole and it should show as a good jet at the ends. Then put the arm back and make sure it spins.Your machine has a strange item called a 4 port diverter valve. This part concerns me a bit as it appears that it may be supposed to move or at least has to be in the correct orientation. Some items like this have a rubber flap that really does divert the flow. Once gain, some type of debris can ruin its function. It looks easy enough to remove.504 - Diagram Number FOUR PORT DIVERTER AND PLUG ASSEMBLY WD19X26398
https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/assembly/PDT715SYN3FSAnother trick is to whip the door open mid wash if it doesn't have a safety lock and see what the arm is doing and if it is spraying well.I hope this is more use than our friend Umar Waheed! Why is my GE dishwasher drain solenoid continuously burning up?
There could be a few reasons why your GE dishwasher drain solenoid keeps burning up:
- Overloading the dishwasher: Overloading the dishwasher can cause the motor to work harder, which in turn can cause the drain solenoid to burn out.
- Improper installation: If the drain solenoid is not installed correctly or there is a wiring issue, this can cause the solenoid to burn out.
- Clogs or blockages: If there are clogs or blockages in the dishwasher's drain line or garbage disposal, this can cause the motor to work harder and burn out the drain solenoid.
- Electrical issues: If there are electrical issues with the dishwasher, such as a short circuit, this can cause the solenoid to burn out.
To troubleshoot the issue, you may want to start by checking the dishwasher's drain line and garbage disposal for any clogs or blockages. You can also check the dishwasher's installation and wiring to ensure everything is properly connected. If the issue persists, you may need to consult a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.
GLD2800V00WW GE dishwasher - doesn't stop washing when door is opened.
The OP Michelle writes with the FIX! Well done.
I was able to repair by doing the following: Removed the inner cover and the cover over the interlock switch. The peg and spring between the interlock switch and the other switch (?) flew out. The peg slides in-between two white plastic "legs" that seemed bent. Tried to straighten them, re-inserted the peg and spring. Removed the interlock switch, checked connection was firm and reinserted. Made sure peg slides up and down. Closed everything up and voila! The dishwasher stops when door is opened. No new parts needed!
