My dishwasher is not draining
Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.

Hi
The
issue seems to be with the float switch assembly that is bad and should be
replaced. Float assembly is found inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom.
The water that fills your dishwasher lifts the float, and when it reaches a
certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers
the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the
dishwasher. A defective switch may interfere with your dishwasher's filling
and/or draining ability. Use your voltmeter to test the switch. Set the device to
the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and touch them to one switch terminal
each. This should produce a reading of either zero or infinity. Continue to
touch the probes to the terminals, and press down on the switch's button. The
reading should change to the opposite extreme. If your switch fails either of
these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post
back for further assistance.

The water won't drain out of the dishwasher.
Remove the bottom strainers and make sure that there is nothing obstructing the outlet pipe and the pump. If possible back flush through the outlet pipe and try draining the machine again before using it again. Also check that the valve that controls the directional flow of the water is operating. This too is in the bottom of the machine.
GE PDW9700 - The dishes do not get cleaned
Same as above problem: I have had this dishwasher for less than 4 years and the dishes as of about 2 years ago stopped getting cleaned. I use the recommended dish liquid and rinse and lightly clean the dishes before I put them in.

Sorry to hear your having problems with your new dishwasher. Please review your owners manual for great tips for the best results on cleaning your dishes. Here are a few steps to take to get your dishwasher working:
- Run you sink water for 3 min on hot before you start your dishwasher. This allows warm water to enter the dishwasher and helps aid in sanitizing and cycle time. Remember water entering must be at 125 degrees.
- If your using power detergent be sure to use rise aid. All new dishwashers require this additive for best results.
- If you have hard water your going to need a dishwasher cleaner and use it once a month. I recommend dishwasher magic. Kills 99.9% bacteria and leave a great scent. I use it myself.
