Normally, horizontal lines on an LCD or LED monitor indicate a bad control board inside the monitor. However, occasionally the problem can be caused by loose or bad cable connections. 2 things you may try, 1? try to push f2 or del to get into the bios and modify the boot order of the devices or 2? press f4, f8 or some f(X) that usually show you boot options, this options may be shown on your screen when you turn on your computer and do the post, just pay atention to see if you find them.

i think you need a DVI to VGA cable
