Smart card stuck
Remove the power cord. Doublke-check that you removed the power cord! Use a butter knife to gently press in on the smart card in a push-to-release effort. Then insert an unfolded paper clip along the side of the smart card and try to nudge it outwards.

How do i backup my hp8440p elitebook with cd-r
Hi
There should be a program on the laptop that will create a set of backup CD-s for you with a restore disk for the OS and any other installed programs and one for the drivers, you can also buy them from HP if your laptop goes faulty before you can back them up

MY LEFT CLICK ON KEYBOARD SCREEN MOUSE BOTTOM LEFT ON HP ELITEBOOK8440P DOESNT WORK HOW CAN I FIX
Please go to the HP website and download the free repair manual for this computer. The keyboard must be replaced. Usually it cannot be done by the average owner because of knowledge and tool absence. If you have tools and the manual is understandable to you give it a try. I would watch ebay for a parts only computer at an affordable price, ask the seller if the keyboard is OK), if so, buy it and remove the keyboard. The knowledge you would gain might qualify you to join Fixya for similarly assisting others with this problem. My specialty is the hinges on HP laptops which can become unworkably stiff and break off after being forced. Replacing these requires an almost complete disassembly of that specific laptop, a programmed sequence that must be followed step by step ergo the need for the repair manual.
No sim card installed
Hello
The SIM tray near the battery allows you to connect to Internet or Dial. Sometime the Laptop/Netbook doesn't allow you to access your laptop/netbook. I suggest reseting your laptop will help you.

There are many reasons why this notebook may have lost its speed.
First let's start with the Windows flaw of too large a profile - if someone keeps all their music, downloads, videos, etc. in the my documents folder, the system slows down over time due to the profile getting too large, one way to speed things up is to create a folder off the root of c: and moving my documents to that. If you have a huge music folder on the desktop, that is not good practice.
Another thing which may affect the speed is a virus - do a virus check, use online scanners also as 1 scanner is never enough to totally detect everything.
Another thing is that the pagefile.sys file on the root of c: (the file which is virtual memory) gets corrupted and does not delete itself, boot to a live CD and delete it (it comes back automatically).
Another is upgrading to the latest and greatest operating system (which needs higher specs), if you upgraded, that may have affected your speed.
You may need to also run the chkdsk /f command from an administrator command prompt (this fixes disk and file errors which may affect performance).
I now run Linux Mint on my systems and don't have any of these problems, I get all the speed all the time which my system was designed for in a rock solid operating system. Google that if you wish to find out more.
