I am unable to read my attached documents please advice what to do?

depending on the format of the document you might need a separate program to read. .file extension "txt", ".doc" should work on a standard windows PC. "docx" (newer office format might need a different program (google for "word viewe"), for ".pdf" google for acrobat reader for a comprehensive list o file extensions and the programmes which created them check the link:

Hi,,just wanna ask how can

The WEBcam driver needs to be installed first before you can access the WEBcam.
The same model ThinkPadcan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEBsite - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers foryour model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true

How to open webcam in

We ran a typical Thinkpad T400 battery of tests, including games, applications, and a couple other areas. Time constraints limited the amount of testing we could get done before the NDA lift (and it's already a few hours late), but we will be providing a follow-up article with further testing and information. That said, if there are any specific areas that you'd like to see tested, feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment.

Re: R400 stuck at ThinkPad screen wont boot

Computers always boot from the hard drive.
The Bios on the mother board have a routine that tell it to boot from the Hard Drive, or USB in the BIOs setup.
to look at the BIOS setup, when you turn it on keep pressing the <ctrl><alt><del> keys on your key board, this should let you go into BIOs setup. there you can check which device it the first boot, second boot and third boot.
If your hard disk the boot, it is probably crashed, you will have to take it in to be repaired, and you might need a new hard disk.
in which case the repair shop will have to put in a new hard disk, format it as bootable, then reload the operating system, and any software you might have been using, so take into the shop all cd software disks with the computer to the shop so they can reload all your stuff. If there were any files you had on the disk, they may or maynot be recovered.

Good Luck...

Problem with ibm laptop

Hi,
Error 0250 means that the BIOS battery is dead and has to be changed, they are usually located hidden in the memory panel underneath the laptop and can be covered in red, blue or yellow plastic.

To boot into windows hit the F1 key when you see the IBM logo, go into the BIOS utility and set the time and date, save the changes and exit the BIOS, make sure you have AC power plugged in when you do this as it will not remember the time and date and you will have to do it again.

Good luck.

SL500 does nothing when power

remove the battery large. then run on AC pack only #1 top failure of all mobile PC is that battery, so unplug it then test with AC pack only. work now.? and all vents must be clean, end to end. not just fan. there i no fuse it uses current regulator, imagine genius magic electronics fuses that never blow out, and bingo. OK big battery out, an RTC coin cell fresh. then fan blows. next is BIOS, do the BIOS screens work if not the mobo is dead. have 2 RAM stick on the 2 slots>? try one at a time run the PC with all modules removed, (options) remove hdd? remove, dvd drive. think like this. Get bios working first learn that modules can short, and when they do the power regs shut down. so we unplug all things to the mob, until only 1 ram and cpu remains. see? (this is called power overload fault isolation tactics) even the screen only can be dead, you never mention text showing you can test the mobo with external screen via that rear (?)_ VGA jack what if that worked, did you learn something here, sure. this pc has tons of modules to pull, even bluetooth. wifi, sound and more. if you look at all parts inside or sold by ebay, bingo. lots
