Your software is corrupted. If you contact Garmin they will replace it for you with a refurbished unit for less dinero than getting a new one.

Check the map on the unit. Make sure that there is a check mark next to the map that you want to use. Make sure that the map is from the region that you are in. If the map says "2016 City Navigator US Lower 40 States NW" then the map will only cover Northwest (NW) and not the area in the East.

Re-install both the maps and main software through Garmin Express and your PC. Probably more than once or twice before it "takes".

Get a Micro SD card (4 or 8 GB) then start over. The maps are 2.2 GB in size so 500 meg is not enough. the SD card will solve all your issues.

First you have to know the password or know where the password was set. once the Garmin is unlocked you can go into the settings sscreen and change it. if you "forget" the password take the Garmin back to where you locked it and it should allow you to use it normally. otherwise SOL. those don't unlock with any tools. even the Garmin Tech's cant help you without you sending them the GPS. Reconnect to gatmin express, go to change map, chNge region from NW to NE. Map file too big for entire USA unless you use an SD card.

Go to system then hit restore and you can go to each icon that is on that same screen by hitting restore. That will restore every icon to factory settings.
