This is a classic "Hic-upping" switchmode power supply problem. The protection circuitry inside the SMPSU, has sensed a severe potential problem, and is attempting the shutting of the set, down to avoid a fire, explosion, or both.
This set had developed a problem, that is so severe that the set must be shut down, (This set should be removed from the Power),
What is happening is the internal "Fault" that is causing the Protection Circuitry , to detect the problem and attempt to shut down the set, keeps restarting the set, because as soon as it shuts down, the "Faulty" component(s) cool down?, and the "Fault" ostensibly "Clears" so the PSU starts up again, only for the component(s) to heat up, whatever, again and fail, so it shuts down, and if left unattended, this would continue on until the part eventually failed. As related this is called a "Hic-upping Power Supply". Any fault that involves the power supply is usually quite serious, and needs a professional, usually, unless one is familiar with servicing current day, televisions.
And in my professional recommendation, you should get a "Quote" for repair, from, an, Approved Service Center. Now, this point is very important for a good result, Always contact, their "Local" or a, "Head Office" Samsung, in your case. Ask them, for a referral to an authorised servicing center, where you ask for a "Quote". Now, when you get the information you want, then you can decide as to repair of replacement.
The reason we want an approved agent, is that way, all the engineers are trained on their own brand sets, they have seen almost all faults, and will get the job done quicker, and for less cost, and usually have parts on hand, also sometimes, there has been a service bulletin in issued and the repair may be subsided or even free. There are many, many, many reasons that display this symptom, one must work through the troubleshooting steps to isolate and identify, the Cause and repair that and any damage done.

I see so many people here with nosound /picture issues:

1. If sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby light check fuse, standby power supply, and look forany signs of damage you can see (burnt parts etc)
3. Almost all these SETS troubleshooting consists of checking voltages andtrying to narrow problem down.
4. Be safe and if do not know what you are doing do not open set.

1. RE: fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement (not the Genericones from like Radio Shack). Many fuses used are special even aside fromamperage. Don't put a higher rate amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE:power supply: if total dead aside from main fuse set uses Standby powerand main power supply (some standby is on separate board but most are combined.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps to seeif any are puffed up or buldged in some fashion; I attach a photo: top shouldbe (silver metal) perfectly flat and have no brown material coming out on topor bottom---l can give you a description if needed here why they fail---too lowvoltage rating causes them (standby area) to overheat and fail in a average 1-2years= The standby is running 7/24 when set is plugged in.

3. Trouble shooting: It consists of the above and then at some point you haveto buy and try a board/s to see which if any fix the issue.

4. Safety first---no set is worth getting injured or even killed over.

Some additional suggestions:

Consider contacting company who made set for information to see if your problemis a common one that their data base has ideas about.

Also GOOGLE the model number with either "parts" "problems"or "manual" as a lot of information is available for free.
I have here only given you the basics but they apply to most sets; depending on your skills if you have specificquestions let me know and I will assist as much as possible.3_22_2012_12_18_42_am.jpg

go to MENU, SETUP,

There you can reset to factory settings. After you set the clock and date, it will ask to scan for all active channels and it will block out the channels it does not find a signal for. Let it complete this task (20 minutes). It asks you for the type of signal but just leave the STD setting for both options before starting the channel finding routine.

When complete, go to channel 10 to see what show is on (low def version). then click down to channel 2 and then push the channel down button several times again to try and find the HD version of that show. (HD channels are high-number channels that are easiest to get to by scrolling below channel 2. Most will have a hyphan in the channel name (e.g. 93-2; 94-1, 94-2, ...).

If your TV goes directly to a 2-digit channel, they you do not have an HD tuner in your set. I doubt that is true so I think you will find what you need.

Let me know if it doesn't work.

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

Hi alberto
The problem you described is usually associated with the main/signal processing board.
But i`d have a few basic questions first so bear with me.
Although i don`t have details of your setup, did you try different inputs(analog and digital) ?
Does the freeze function (still button on the remote) make any difference?

replace the tuning button

Disconnect from the power for 1 hour. Go to settings - Picture - scroll down to Reset to Factory Defaults.

If that doesn't fix it, look for bad capacitors, or give it to a technician.

Make sure that all remotes are using same technology. Most remotes use infrared but many modern remotes are bluetooth and they cannot be programmed in infrared remote.
