Why do I have picture but no sound?

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. Samsung LA32b450C4 works for a little while and then goes to standby. You will have to unplug for some moment before it comes on again

Very likely that one or more component capacitors have failed, unplug from electrical power, remove rear cover and inspect using a flashlight for leaking/bulging capacitors. This will require soldering experience to replace.

Samsung tv le32a456 switches off

This sounds like a very common issue. If set is hard to turn on (takes several tries)but will eventually turn on hereis what my guess would be.Every set has a standby power supplythat is running 7/24 if the set is plugged in and it supplies voltage to theremote circuit that turn on the main power supply for the tv and hence turn theset on.This is an area where companies cut corners by using lower rated voltage caps.By this I mean Standby usually provides under 10 volts to trigger the seton----what they do is use filter caps rated at say 10 volts max in a circuitwith 9 volts (example)=with the standby on all the time the filter caps(electrolytic caps) dry out and fail. The problem usually begins where you have to turn set on or or two times andgradually gets worse--takes longer and more tries to get it to come up.Once on it will stay on until turned off for a period of time. The caps will begin to work better (regain some of thecapacitance) as they get hot--hence one it is on it will seem ok.The beauty of this problem is most of themhappen when set is a year or two old (no warranty) and all you have to do islook at the top to locate bad ones. They are generally black or blue and round and vary in --they have twoconnections each--a + for positive and a - for negative--not unlike a batterywhich in a way they are. The + and - are marked on top and bottom of most boards. They are easy to replace and not expensive parts. The tops are silverand metal looking with creases on top and if bad they will be puffed up ontop---tops must be perfectly flat with no brown material leaking top or bottom. If this is your problem once you id them (make a drawing) you can begin. Here is the critical part---on each cap is also marked the value like 220uf 10vdc---220 micro farad at 10 volts maximum. If you find for example 6 puffed up and all are 10 vdc replace them with thesame value capacitance (like the 220 uf) but go up to at least in this case(from 10 volts) to a 16 or higher rated voltage cap.The only issue is when you go up in voltage rated value the cap is larger sosometimes there is an issue of physical space for the replacement on the boardto fit them in.The reason they cheapen these sets in this way is if 10 caps and you make25,000 sets there is a considerable savings in parts cost. They do not care as long as it lasts past the usual one year parts warranty.I have taken the time to be long winded because this really sounds like it maybe the problem you have.See attached photo of a typical cap and if you have questions or need advicelet me know.4_21_2012_3_07_04_pm.jpg

When switched on red light flashes a few times and

You will need to take the back off the tv and check for puffed capacitors. If they are puffed, you will need to replace them. Replace with rated capacitors equal to or slightly higher values that are printed on the capacitors. Their values are mF and voltage. If this doesn't correct your problem, you will need to check the voltages on the power supply. If you have a constant standby voltage of 5VDC. but no other voltages, it is probably the main board.Send me make, model, serial number of tv so I can do further research. Thank you

Lines down screen

We have a Samsung LE32A457, whilst we were watching T.V tonight the top halve of the screen suddenly appeared with green lines halfway down the screen and that half of the picture was unwatchable, T.V is 2 years old. We have removed all scart leads but this did not help and the problem still exists, when shutting down a white horizontal line across the centre of the screen appears from this line upwards the picture is faulty. Any help or advice would be grateful.

The TV seems to take ages to turn on, the red

Hi,

This is an indication of out-of-regulation in the power supply section. The very common caused of this fault is the leaky electrolytic capacitor in that section. It will drop the supply from normal voltage and will disable the unit.It needs a little warm-up to make itself stable but the symptom will get worst. Sometimes it has a bulged/dome at the top but not all, it is better that you have a capacitor checker/tester to determine its condition. Your unit will back to normal again if the leaky capacitor is isolated. Yes fixing the power supply is quite technical but in this case a little backround in electronics will be fine because electrolytic capacitor is the only parts that are going to be replace. If you don

Turn hdmi2 on

hdmi is auto detecting and shouldn't need to be turned on. try plugging your hdmi1 device into the hdmi2 slot. if switching devices around doesn't get hdmi2 working, that jack is likely broken. all the hdmi ports go into the 1 main board inside, and a lot of times you would have to replace that board to fix. if only 1 jack now works, you could also get an hdmi switcher, and then plug all your devices into that, and then just plug the switcher into the working jack. let me know if I you require further assistance.
