Picture has blackish coverings that move across the screen ... those areas can not be seen well. Comes & goes. We turn it off for a bit & then it works fine but comes back.

Sounds like The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

How do I get streaks off the screen?

I use a brand new microfiber cloth. Mist the cloth with a spray bottle a few times with clean water. And brush the screen lightly with only the microfiber by folding the cloth into a square. If the stain is persistent try a LCD screen cleaning product

How do I fix my TV that will give an image after powering on, and then make it go so dark you can't see it?

This is what happens when the backlighting circuit fails. It can either be the lamp or the inverter board. This is one reason the newer TVs/Monitors are using LED backlighting. They last longer. Typical LCD backlighting can fail in as little as three years if they are left on full time.

Inverter board

It all depends on the person doing the job they can make there own prices. cost of the board + time + storage until part come+ time it takes to put the part in and test tv. some will put in the part you got if it is the right one but most will not. some place's get the parts cheap and you pay the full cost of what it would be. hope this help. look for a repair place only they are usually the best place to start as they only do repairs and not sales.

Video inputs not working

Which video inputs in particular - all of them or only the HDMI for example? Consider sending the main board to us for inspection and possible repair: http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/newservice It's free if there is a problem and we can't fix it, it's $20 if we test the board and it all seems fine and it's going to be around $70 if we find and fix the problem; return shipping will be about $10, i.e. all before mentioned prices will have $10 surcharge for the return shipping. (of course prices are subject to change in time, so you may want to contact us first to confirm) Hope this helps!
