Most TV's require to be set on channel 3 with the TV remote again I say with the TV remote then if you get a screen run the channel lookup command from the TV remote, that should do it for you. As long as you are getting all of your channels this is normal to have a delay between changing on HDMI.

It sounds like your set needs servicing. Are the other inputs working? HDMI port failures are indicative of a problem with the main board.

That problem is usually have 2 causes..Its either power supply board or main board..Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:1. Open the back cover.2. Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light inverter..3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...5. If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you can purchased new power supply board..6. If the problem is on main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new main board that fits to your TV..Hope this solution will be helpful..Thanks for using fixya...

based on model and brand sounds like an inverter board bad.

If you do not see this when playing a DVD etc it is more likely a issue coming from a cable or sat box etc.

Did u go into the tv menu and go to Video Setting and go down to do a resetting to the whole Tuner signal board resetting for factory setting.Go into tv Audio Setting and go down and to do a whole resetting to a the Audio resetting.Go into tv menu and go to OPTION go down to Out put must be set in word Fix for tv speakers not set in a word Variable for outer speakers systems.

Power supply board just die.It can be dead at anytimes.Tries websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

They are METRIC either M5 or M6, you should able to get them at local hardware store for 15~25 cents ea. with different length and sizes.

I work for comcast have seen 2 kdl 5100 with same issue changed to component cables issue resolved
hdmi input is the problem. Yes I did try 3 different hd boxes same issue problem is with tv .

You are obviosly the third customer with this problem
