start up the psp and be sure you have access to a wifi connection in the area. Under the XMB go all the way to the setting(keep hitting left and go to the top. It will have a software update option that will let you connect to sony's servers and Download and install the latest PSP update.
Here there is plenty of info, tutorials, files etc. to do the software side of things, as for modifying the psp hardware here is where you want to be...
If you get stuck along the way just ask me and i'll help you work it all out. I think I might have to write something up in the tips and tricks section shortly that covers it all step by step and bit by bit, some of the tutorials I have read are not the easiest to follow yet the process itself is not that difficult
If you have a PSP that has a custome firmware then it easy to put games on your memory card. First you need to download the iso or cso file of each game you want. Then connect your PSP to your computer using a data cable and then put the games on the ISO folder of your mem card.
If you have an official forward from sony let say 6.x and above, unfortunately this cannot be hacked at this moment.
If you have a PSP that has firmware 5.50 and below then there is a possibility you can hacked this. Search google there are lots of links tutorial as well as youtube.
First check to make sure the battery and power cord are fully functional. I would test your charger with another PSP. If you know for certain that your power cord works, then then you have an issue with the PSP, not the power cord. Then see if the warranty is still good. Sony has a 1-year warranty on all of their products. If you didn't purchase the system brand new and got a used one instead, the warranty may very well be over. If the warranty isn't any good, I'd take it to a professional. Fixing the product itself can be very tricky, and probably isn't worth it.
Unfortunately, It's true. You can't get free games unless they're demos. I have searched for a way to get free games for a long time. It's not possible unless you are using a custom firmware, such as DarkAlex's custom firmware. That would require a Pandora battery and othe hacks. It may be possible to downgrade the firmware to and earlier version, but you would lose some of the new features Sony provides. You can find demo that are not on the PlayStation Network (PSN for short) on various websites. However, they are only demos.
You will need to restore the default settings. To do this, follow the following instructions:
STEP 1
From the XMB home menu, go to Settings > System Settings > Restore Default Settings
STEP 2
The message "Do you want to restore default settings?" should appear. Select "Yes", and press the "X" button.
STEP 3
You will then see a message, "All settings will be returned to default settings. Are you sure you want to continue?". Select "Yes" and press the "X" button.
STEP 4
All settings are now restored and the system password is reset to "0000".
STEP 5
Press the "X" button to re-start the system.
STEP 6
Re-enter system settings as appropriate.
N.B. The Restore Default Settings feature will erase any previously saved settings and restore all the settings to default.
Hope this helps. Please don't hesitate to contact me should you require any further assistance.
PSP system is compatible with any capacity Memory Stick
media as long as it carries the Memory Stick logo (this space ship looking thing). Additionally, you should keep your system updated with the latest firmware to
ensure compatibility of all Memory Stick media capacities. Visit PSP
System Software Update to download and install the most recent
version.
in my personal experience i have found that the 8 gig size works best for me. taking into account the price and such. on sale you could get the 8 gig for about $25 to $30. and even cheaper if you get the other brands. they will work as long as they have the memory stick logo on them... sandisk is one brand i've bought.
if you are downloading ISOs from off line, then it will come up with this error. You musk hack your psp in order to play these games. If its a demo, it may be in the wrong folder.
you will have to take the psp apart. From my last psp, i think you have to pretty much disassemble the psp in order to get to the mechanism, but then that was a psp1000. Idk about a 3000.
Behind your PSP there is a circle in which is written PSP. Try to push it and the disc ejects, then put your new UMD inside and play. To play you have to gao to the UMD in the menu and press X on the keypad.
Your PSP must be hacked with custom firmware 5.03 Gen-A Full.
Here a guide explaining how to hack the PSP: How to hack PSP 3000 Firmware to CFW. After that you need to backup the UMD games. If you already have the backup skip this step, or see: How to backup PSP UMD games. Third step is creating a folder namedISO in the root of a memory card, then storing the .iso/.cso game image files in the memory card. One more step is required before being able to play the games. Go to Game>>Memory Stick, and bring up the VSH menu by pressing SELECT button. Browse to UMD ISO MODE and change the mode from Normal to M33 driver (press right arrow button), press SELECT again to exit. At this point you are ready to play the game.Go to Game>>Memory Stick>>select .iso/.cso game files>>select a game to start playing.
