Sony Alpha DSLR-A350 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
When memory card is inserted the camera wont work
You can insert CF memory and some memory stick cards when you use a special adapter. When you use a memory tick, make sure it is compatible, because the memory stick is the most incompatible memory card, if you have not the correct one.
When you use a CF memory card, check all contacts. Not one contuse pinn in the camera should be belt a little. Use a bright light and a loupe to check.

When I turn my A350
The lens gears are stuck. If dust/lint gets into the gears the gears will get stuck and will make a vibrating noise. After a while the camera shuts off and will flash the error code for lens error. Unfortunately there is nothinng you can do about it as it is extremely tough to disassemble these things. May be your local camera tech can help you. I do not recommend that you try it yourself as if any part of the lens assembly gets slightly kinked the next step will be the bin.

Same as owner of a350
Hi.
The live view sensor is gone out of alignment. The problem was common on Alpha models up to 5xx series, when the sensor was replaced with a more reliable one.
The camera must be repaired, the sensor may need replacement.
Here one of the many forums on the topic. The repair is not expensive, you can get a quote calling Sony contact number, or you can get a quote from a third party repair service here:
Repair.
Regards.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

My Sony A100. When connected to a computer via the
I just had the same problem tonight, actually. It's because I just started using the Memory Stick Pro Duo Adaptor for compactflash slot. Make sure the camera is not plugged into the usb slot. Go to menu, go to settings tab (the wrench icon on top), down twice to "Transfer Mode" and select PTP. If it doesn't work you can always change it back. I noticed also that in PTP mode, it might not let you delete images after copying. ??
That's all I have at the moment. Good luck.

How can I change the language on my Sony DCR PC-100? I'm trying to change it from Japanese to English but I cant seem to find the solution online as well as from reading the manual.
The Sony DCR-PC100 is a camcorder model that was released before touch screen interfaces and language settings became more common on consumer electronics. As such, it's possible that this specific model might not have a built-in option to change the language from Japanese to English, especially if it was originally sold for the Japanese market.
However, there are a few general steps you can try that might help:
- System Menu: Check the camcorder's settings menu for any language-related options. Look for a "System" or "Language" menu where you might be able to change the language settings. Keep in mind that the menu options might still be displayed in Japanese, so you might need to rely on symbols or context.
- Reset to Defaults: Some devices have a "Reset to Defaults" option that might reset all settings, including language, to the factory defaults. This might be worth trying if you're unable to find the language settings.
- Contact Sony Support: If you're unable to find a solution through the manual or online resources, it's best to contact Sony customer support for your region. They might be able to provide specific guidance or let you know if changing the language is even possible on the DCR-PC100.
- Third-Party Resources: Search for user forums or online communities where other users might have faced a similar issue and found a solution. Sometimes, enthusiasts or experts in those communities can provide helpful insights.
- Professional Assistance: If all else fails, consider reaching out to a professional technician or service center that specializes in Sony camcorders. They might have experience with older models and could potentially assist you.
