Model#ZGU661 electric igniter works intermittenly
How old is the stove? The igniter does sometimes go bad. Also you need to check the igniter wires. The igniter works on a grounding principal so if the wires outside shield are cracked or eaten by mice the spark then travels to the path of least resistance and probably sparks under the top.
Good Luck

The oven for my G.E. gas stove takes forever to reach 350 deg.
Here are the common causes.
1. First check that the bake and broil burners/ignitors are working. If not, you may have a bad ignitor.
2. If #1 is ok, then the burners must be short cycling, that is, they are ON for too short a time then OFF again.
#2 can be caused by either a bad temperature sensor or a failure in the control board.
The temperature sensor needs to be checked by disconnecting and measuring it's resistance.
If the sensor is good, then the problem is in the control board. We repair this particular problem with the controller quite often. If you want, I can have a look at it for you, if you can have it removed and sent to us.
Regards,
Bruce

How to fix ticking electronic starts of ge
HI there,
Well the problem is probably due to some water on the spark module. This is pretty common. Let it dry out. Once it dries the problem should go away. If not you need to replace the spark module, The spark module is what sends spark to the burners. It sits under the glass.
You have to remove the cook top from the counter. Then remove all the screws around the outter edge that hold the glass on. You cant buy the spark module at home depot
Good Luck!!
Thanks

My wife had a boil over on our GE cooktop (model#
This is most likely caused by a wet or dirty spark gap or flame sensor and will probably be fine if you let the unit dry out for a couple of days. You could, at your own risk, light the pilots or burners with a lighter and let the heat dry out the components. They may have to be cleaned.

Ignitors are igniting on their own
they are not lighting they are sparking on there own right? No actual flame? if they are sparking on there own you need a new spark module.

The spark on burner will not stop clicking after the flame is on
When you push the knob does it stay down? This problem is usually one of twwo things. Either the spring underneath is not strong enough or the shaft is dry. Sometimes a spray of WD40 can help. Pull off the knob and spray the shaft. Sorry I am partially guessing because I have no idea which top you are using. Hope this helps.
