Red filter indicator light
Hi Linda - there is a "reset" hole - you have to stick a pin or a paper clip in the hole when you change the HEPA filter - I just found this out myself! It does work. Mine didn't work right away, but it did end up resetting and went back to green after a few moments. I think this happened to me last time. The filters are really expensive, but you can get them at Walmart. If you need more information, email me at
[email protected] and I'll tell you what model filter, etc.
How to reset air purifier
(from the manual) Turn off the unit. Look just below the last light on
the "filter change indicater meter". You'll see a very small hole and
the words "reset". Use a sharp object, such as the end of a paper clip
(opened up) and stick the paper clip or sharp object into the hole.
This is suppose to reset the unit. However, I have heard of cases when
people of done what I just described but the indicator late still will
not reside to green. I hope this helps you.
Replacement filters
I own this same unit and you can sometimes find them on ebay for around 20 bucks for a set of 2 filters. The carbon filters I can usually find for 12 bucks for a set of 2. Just do a lot of google searching for them to find the best price
I have a GE Electronic
The Ge air purifier does not use a electro static precipitor, it uses a HEPA filter to catch the dust and dirt and it is not supposed to spark unlike the ORECK which does use the electo static precipitator
Is this a good model # for a GE electrostatic air
not likely the electrostatic air cleaners are discontinued for the most part because the really didnt do all they claimed. you can achieve much better air quality from a standard media air filter with a merv rating of 10 or better.
