Hi,
Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator
do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other
things that can go wrong.
If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the
last two tips.
If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…
Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start
trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling
a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Well, first check your compressor current ( you can check current draws by using clamp ampere). Compare the reading with your owner manual. If they are quite lot difference : your compressor is dead or relay is not work or your cable is loosen due to your previous activity.

Yes that is right. Turn the Refrigerator off/ unplug it. Remove the rear panel of the freezer and thaw out the coils with a fan or hair dryer.
The most common problem is with the defrost heater. Using an ohm meter check the heater for continuity but unplug the 2 wires (one from each side). This should be a glass encased heater. you can also very gently pull both ends of the heater and if it is bad it will come apart instead of feeling "springy". If you have only one heater your new replacement will probably be a 2 heater kit.

Yes its possible you could have a bad evap fan motor bearings. Its part# wr60x10185 and will cost you about 60 bucks. This particular fan motor is not the easiest to replace. You will have to remove the back panel of the freezer and possibly the auger motor. I cant tell by looking at the image but I do know that this particular fan motor depending on the model can be a real pain. It can be done but may take you some time. If you remove the back panel and look up you will see the fan motor. It will be held in 2 screws on the bracket and will come with a new thermistor.
Hope this helps _MJ_
Same problem
This machine has a circuit board with some models having a known defective board, which GE is replacing free of charge.
Check with GE to see if you qualify.
Along with the board there are usually 5 thermistors that control the operation of this machine, along with many other controls.
My personal opinion is this machine is radically over-engineered
for a device that is designed to freeze food and keep milk cold.
I recommend calling GE factory service to correct the problem.
If their service does not solve the problem(s), then call them back until they do. Most states have a law that is called something like reasonable expectations. It is a law that states, irregardless of the printed warranty period, the machine should provide reasonable service that a normal person would expect when purchasing any
machine.

ive seen this before on this model, what is happening is the water line in the door is freezing and clogging up
the best thing you can doo here is disconnect that tube and try to get it defrosted
i usually suggest to turn the unit off
and open the freezer door let the inside come up to room temp
and drain from the coupler

Hello, with the limited information I have on this there could be one of a couple of problems here, First and most common is the defrost timer. When the defrost timer activates the defrost system the compressor shuts down for about 15 minutes..does it's thing and then starts the compressor up again to continue the cooling proccess. When the defrost timer gets stuck on defrost cycle it shut's the compressor off and won't start again. the defrost timer is located in the console where the cold control/light is located inside the fridge. your going to need to find it. once you find the defrost timer there is a small dial on the front that will allow you to advance it. Advance the timer and see if the compressor kicks in, if after a few minutes the compressor kicks in replace the timer. the other problem would be with the compressor and that you should leave to a proffesional...please feel free to comment again if you have any other questions, Good Luck!!!! mike
