The light bulb is located in the top panel just above the dispenser and to the front. Be sure to check the manual for bulb voltage, most of these used a 12 volt bulb and NOT a 115 volt. It looks like an old style small base Christmas tree bulb.
Seal around the door should be "warm" not "hot" in my opinion... Only purpose for the electric heat in door seal is to evaporate moisture that will condense on the otherwise cold surface of the door seal causing drippage or if door seal on freezer to prevent frost buildup. In design of unit no reason that engineers would want or need to have this seal 'hot" because a mild temperature say 50 F would be adequate to do the job. Perhaps some physical damage to the electric wire in this circuit causing a short and more current to flow making it heat up???
Maybe not a baffle problem at all...... To me the baffle is such a simple device it would be hard to imagine how it would get screwed up. The one on my old Norge is almost 50 years old.... [ Yeah, I know, I waste probably twice the KWH that you guys do.... but my wife insists on keeping this old coppertone fridge and I keep rep[airing it over the years.]
There is more than one fan on your refrigerator I think you mean that the bearings and not the bushings are bad which could be true just have to figure out which fan it is.
Clean it. You probably have a large dust collection in, under and on your units underbelly.
You should have a collection pan, underneith, that collects the runoff water and the heat from the componits will evaporate it before it fills too much.
You could also have a leak in the plumbing system that supplys your ice maker. When your valve opens, you should be ready with a flash light inorder to watch for any drips underneith the unit.
Could be a simple fix of just tightening up a bolt, or could be a repairman issue.
Good luck.
you must check the door seals are ok and if they are you might have a bit of compressor oil stuck in the condenser pipes somwhere this is a regular problem with alot of new fridges youll need to take it to the agents if thats the case
When you see this happen can you feel the bottom of the ice maker to see if hot? What is the correct model number? I am trying to understand if it is the ice maker heating element is stuck on while heating the ice maker to release the cubes or if the water control valve is allowing the water to come in through the fill tube like a leaking faucet. Could be the water valve it should be a double soleniod, one for the icemaker the other for the water dispensor. Have someone push the dispensor button while you listen at the back of the fridge. It should be located at the bottom right corner, even if youcan hear it, it may not be opening. You can remove the plastic line that goes to that side of the valve and have someone press the button again to see if any water comes out. If it does you may not have pressed and held the button long enough to fill the resevoir that is located inside the freshfood compartment.
call manufacturer for weight of refrigerant or charge it by the pressure r134a = low side around 5psi(will drop while freezer gets colder) and high side 165-175psi.
Put a level on the top of the unit. Side to side needs to be level. Front to back has to be canted to the rear by about 1/4 bubble. If that is good you need to adjust the hinges.
Hi,
You are looking for the water source, two possible places to look. Look around the water filter and the glass shelves for water, also check the water tank behind the crispers, as I have seen them crack in the past. Good luck, hit me up if you need more information. Did you locate the mini-manual G.E. hides so when that kind of information is needed , their techs would be able to identify the problem you're asking about. That information is usually down below the the front area with every unit distributed...
Hi,
You have lot your evaporator fan motor in the freezer that caused no air to circulate, this would also effect the refer section too. P# WR60X10185 if you need it, check to see if the fan remains running on high speed even when the freezer door is open for 3-5 minutes.
