Freezer and Fridge side not cooling
Sounds like your Defrost heater is burned up. It is located in the back of the freezer compartment behind the lower cover. Look at the base of the condensor. Two screws hold the heater and two wire connectors. The heater is in a glass tube. Measure continuity from one end to the other, you should see a few ohms. if it is open, your heater is definitely burned. I got a good deal on a replacement heater on Ebay. I think it was $17 including shipping. The heater being bad will cause major frost buildup in the back of the freezer and stop the Ice maker from working and damage food. Be sure to thorougly dry the freezer compartment prior to putting it back in operation. If too much moisture is present, the new heater will evaporate the moisture into the Ice dispensoer motor and solenoid that swtiches from crushed to solid ice. Hope this helps.
it has nothing to do with your problem, but please Check out my website www.playstationclinic.com
Ice Maker Issues-only crushed ice works, cubed comes out crushed
There is a solinoid in the freezer section by the motor that turns the ice auger. Test it by selecting cubes and with the ice bucket out, open the door, hold the door switch so the lights turn out and push the dispenser button. It should make a loud snap and travel upward. If not then I would say you have a bad solinoid. If it does, then I would look at the bucket. the metal rod that runs along the side of the bucket opens a flap in the bucket that is supposed to let the full cubes drop. look for anything that might cause it to be hanging up.
No light in door dispenser
The light bulb is located in the top panel just above the dispenser and to the front. Be sure to check the manual for bulb voltage, most of these used a 12 volt bulb and NOT a 115 volt. It looks like an old style small base Christmas tree bulb.
Freezer fine frige to cold
you must check the door seals are ok and if they are you might have a bit of compressor oil stuck in the condenser pipes somwhere this is a regular problem with alot of new fridges youll need to take it to the agents if thats the case
Ice dispenser door flap will not close.
Remove the top freezer hinge hover on top of the freezer door . Unplug the receptical there ( this will remove power to the door only ) .
Using a small screwdriver at the "crease" on the bottom of the dispensor control board inside the dispensor , twist slightly to disengage the 2 clips ( 1 on each side ) holding the dispensor board . Unplug the 3 connectors from the board . 4 screws ( 1 on each corner ) hold the dispensor housing shield . Remove these 4 small screws . After removing , at the top right , you will see a solenoid and plunger . These are probably rusted , holding the flap open . The part number for the solenoid and plunger is WR62X10055 . 3 screws hold this part on . When reinstalling the dispensor housing , It slides back on 2 "grooves" so make sure it is back in place , or the board will not snap back on properly at the bottom .
No water from dispancer
Could be the water valve it should be a double soleniod, one for the icemaker the other for the water dispensor. Have someone push the dispensor button while you listen at the back of the fridge. It should be located at the bottom right corner, even if youcan hear it, it may not be opening. You can remove the plastic line that goes to that side of the valve and have someone press the button again to see if any water comes out. If it does you may not have pressed and held the button long enough to fill the resevoir that is located inside the freshfood compartment.
Intermittant ice making
When you see this happen can you feel the bottom of the ice maker to see if hot? What is the correct model number? I am trying to understand if it is the ice maker heating element is stuck on while heating the ice maker to release the cubes or if the water control valve is allowing the water to come in through the fill tube like a leaking faucet. Thanks, John Tripp
