Are replacement motors available for these fans?

mcdevito75 here, If the fan is not too old I would figure yes, but a replacement motor will cost as a new fan, if not more, then you have to install and the blades are a presss fit to the motor.

How can I clean a Lakewood fan, mine is so filthy

ok here is what I found....there should be screws on the outside rim where the two fan grates meet....then dust the innerds with a leaf blower or a rag, then use brake cleaner spray to soften the greasy dirt that formed, and again a rag to wipe away any residue....hope this works, it did for me

Patton 1887 fan blades wont turn

I've had an 1887 since the 90s -- great fan. I have to say that FixinFax (Solution 1 above) probably didn't try to take his unit apart. My blade has stopped rotating several times over the years and I always got it going again by myself. I'm no whiz, just your average amateur handyman. In fact I am fixing the motherbleeper right now because in a week where the heat is 100 degrees it chose to slow down and stop.

Eventually it sucks enough dust into the axle housing so you have to take the motor mechanism apart and clean it. It's not terribly complicated, but you have to note how the electrical and mechanical parts go back together before disassembling. It's a little tricky to get all the housing parts to line up level again, you may have to try a couple times till the blade rotates freely. Wipe out all the dust and gunk buildup. Lubricate the axle with oil, or I just spray with WD-40. Then reassemble.

The only thing I have had to replace is the on-off knob, since it's plastic and it split. Just get a universal knob from your local hardware store.

Need to replace the switch that has ,hi,low, med off on nit? please Help

you have 3 control wires (the 3 speeds) and a common wire. the common wire will go directly from the fan motor to the power source/cord and the other 3 leads will run through the switch. you could even use a standard dimmer-style lighting rheostat and connect it to the common and "high" fan speed wire and have infinitely variable fan speeds. hope that helps.

Any idea where I could get a replacement motor for a Lakewood model HV-18 fan? The motor is fried, sparks coming out when I turn it on.

Take the motor out and take to a local motors repair and rewinds shop. Drop it on the counter and say "can I have one of these please". It is just a motor, form size, voltage and speed. https://www.google.com/search?q=Lakewood+model+HV-18+parts ..

Where can I get a Lakewood box fan repaired

You could repair it yourself or take it to a local electrical store or a vacuum repair shop. They are just a box, a motor and a switch. https://www.google.com/search?q=lakewood+fan+repairs ..

Where can i get a lakewood fan motor for lakewood fan model number HV-18

you would have to go to a place that sells motors and get one by motor type, that than the appliance make and model. All electric motors are standard by size, voltage, speed and fixings. https://www.google.com/search?q=lakewood+hv+18+replacement+parts ...
