How to troubleshoot ice maker for my GE refrigerator
The first thing to check is the temperature in the freezer. Even though everything is frozen the ice maker won't cycle unless its below 10 degrees F as a safety precaution. If the temperature is good, and since you can't manually advanve the ice maker, or not suppose to anyway what I would do is turn the ice maker off a few minutes and then turn it back on, but when you do pay close attention to the fill tube where the water comes in at, because if the valve is good, a little water should flow up real quickly. If this happens, change the icemaker. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at

Serious heating of fridge PCG21IBS
Make sure the venting inside isn't blocked. I would have an appliance repairman service it. Most likely it's something more deeply involved.
The refrigerator has frozen on the back side of freezer and has stopped freezing. The other side is not cooling. Ice maker stopped. What is going on?
The frozen on the back side of the freezer is due to your unit haveing a defrost issue where either the defrost thermostat which is the most popular to show a fault in this type of situation, or the defrost heater, or the defrost timer or adaptive control has a fault . If you have a multimeter you can perform and ohms test on the thermostat which should read around .50 or higher and the defrost heater which usually is around 26-28 ohms. If you had a 0 reading then this would tell you which piece has a fault. I will await your reply as to your finds.Thank youRickp.s these parts are located behind that inside rear wall panel which is removeable if you were to see any ice up condition on the evaporator coil this would confirm your defrost issue and you would first use a hair dryer to defrost the evaporator coil of all ice.
