After power interruption we find the temp is sitting at 48 degrees fridge side and 19 degrees on the freezer side.

After about 24 hours your temps should be close to zero in freezer and about 37 in refrigerator. If not check position of thermostat control and turn clockwise for colder temps if necessary.

Ive maker not working

I just resolved an issue with my kenmore elite side by side refrigerator icemaker (model 106).
It was expensive because I took the long road to fixing the unit myself.

My problem: No water going up to the freezer water dispenser into the icemaker but the water in front of the door working just fine.

-first thing i tried was the simplest. The Internet is clogged with this miracle fix of using a hair dryer to melt the frozen water line going to the dispenser output. This is highly unlikely for our model since the water line is protected within the refrigerator frame.

-2nd thing I replaced my water filter (thinking that there wasn't enough water pressure to trigger the solenoid valve. $40, and still no luck.

-3rd thing was I tested for voltage going to the solenoid. No voltage going to solenoid, so I wasted $30 for a new solenoid.....still no water.

-4th thing was I ordered a new IR sensor and receiver (since the reciever end is where the relay that sends the voltage to the solenoid to turn on and allow water to go up to the dispenser).
My IR sender and receiver appeared to be working flakey.
Installed, still no water. $58 BUCKS ON EBAY (EVERYWHERE ELSE $100+)

-I finally removed the freezer front little white door, I TURNED OFF THE FREEZER SWITCH SO NO VOLTAGE WAS PRESENT, removed the release latch underneath the freezer unit and disconnected, and removed the freezer unit to inspect it further.
When I removed the protective white cover that covers the mechanical wheel, I had a few parts come flying out of it. Turns out that the wheel accessories were damaged. THERE ARE NO REPAIRABLE PARTS ON THE FREEZER UNIT. I FOUND ONE ON EBAY FOR $39 BUCKS + $9 SHIPPING! $48 BUCKS, SWAPPED THE HARNESS AND BOTTOM COVER, AND IN 20 MINUTES, I WAS BACK IN BUSINESS. STARTED MAKING ICE IN ABOUT A HALF HOUR!!!!!

when in doubt, replace the freezer unit for $48 bucks! 7 out of 10 times it will fix your problems. All techs replace the IR set at the same time too which will set you back another $58 bucks.
Good luck! ;)

My refrigerator has not been

I'm assuming you've cleaned your condenser coils, and checked the fans. There are a lot of things that can be causing this, but the following blog is about the same problem, and may apply to you:
http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/refrigerator-freezer-repair/3808-ge-refrigerator-wont-cool-freeze-top-half.html
The following website has a troubleshooting guide, in case you haven't tried their steps:
http://www.repairclinic.com/Refrigerator-Troubleshooting?red=#coolingispoor
Have you had your coolant checked? Is your thermostat good? Is your condenser fan working, and is the damper open, if equipped?
You could have a faulty part on the control board, but it could be something as simple as oxidized relay contacts to a cracked trace.
Not sure what you've changed, but hope something in this post helps you get it fixed.

Not able to make ice cubes with the automatic

Hi,
Take off the back panel in the freezer. 1/4" screws. Use a nut driver or ratchet and socket with an extension. 2. Behind the frost is the evaporator and the defrost heaters. One heater in the middle and one at the bottom. They are glass tubes. If you can see the bottom heater that is great. If not use a hair dryer and defrost only the very bottom to expose the lower heater only. 3. Now in the refrigerator section at the top where the controls are, take off the long plastic piece to expose the timer. The timer should be on the right hand side and have a little circle that is slotted. Get a flat screwdriver and turn that timer slowly clockwise just until it clicks and the refrigerator turns off. This will put it into defrost. 4. Now look at that heater that you exposed and see if it glows and gets hot. If it does, then the timer is bad. 5. If the heater doesn't come on then go ahead and defrost the rest of the evaporator with the hair dryer. This will take a little while. Don't poke at the evaporator!!! 6. Once totally defrosted look at both heaters. They should look like clear glass and see a silver coil running thru them. If they look discolored at all then the heaters are bad. The heaters come as a complete assembly with the defrost thermostat which clips onto the evaporator. 7. If the heaters look ok the only way to know for sure if they are bad is to check continuity with a meter on the plug at the end of their wiring harness. If you can check that then you can splice in a new defrost thermostat to solve the problem. However the best thing to do is replace the heaters and defrost thermostat . It is easy to install. Follow these steps and this will solve your problem.
Take care.....

Water and Ice dispenser wont work. Water does

There are several reasons for this happening. One could be the wire connection on bottom of freezer door hinge there ia a set of for or five wires running back to the main control board. We Technicians call them pin plugs, rectangular and flat male and female. Corrosion getting inside. Another the connection at the dispenser board itself. Or the valve that controls the water supply has slowly died or has a blocked or crimped water supply. And worst case motherboard. Now if and wen you are ready we will begin or you may want to call Sea Breeze to come out to your home. (Joking) Trying to add a little humor there! Anyway you tell me if you are going to listen and work with me or if you need someone to come out. I do not want to put too much on you and lose your confidence, Waiting for response. Sea Breeze

Hi, you may have a problem with the compressor or the condenser fan motor behind the box getting hot and shutting off on external overload. Or, even better, you could have just a cord that isn't working well and not getting a good connection all of the time. Before I restocked it I would keep a close eye on it to see if this problem happens again. If it does, before you unplug it, try and roll it out to get behind it with out unplugging it, I know this might be difficult to do.You should have a lower fiber panel on it. Remove the screws and you will see a small fan, a small coil, and the brain, (compressor) there. If the fan is not on, and you can reach in and slowly lay your hand on the top of compressor as it may be very HOT, but check it to see if it is hot, warm, or cool like its been off. Now, where the cord comes in see if you can grab it and move it around to see if the fan and compressor tries to start or does. If so, get a new cord If not, then unplug it and back in. If it starts again, still get a new cord, as this is the problem. While you are back there, on the front side of the coil, try to clean all of the dust, lint, and what ever that's build-up over the years. This will save wear on the compressor as you will have air flow through the coil. Please keep me up dated on what has happened. I can help you more if you need me.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7
