After i turn on oven preheat it goes to f-3
Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
The f-3 code is a verry common code on ovens what this is telling you is that the oven temperature temperature sensor is not working correctly they normally will read the preheat then fail shortly after this and produce the code that you are recieving ok?
So you will first want to check to see that the temperature sensor is fully connected and is in good condition if it looks bad or full of grease or junk clean it and then try it again this may help but if not you will need to replace it ok?
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Mike
FO light comes on Model
Hello, Welcome to FixYa.
I'll start by saying on many models different issues can manifest a similar scenario, especially under the same manufacturer. For instance the error code "F0" on GE built ranges means either the timer/control is faulty or a key on the user interface/ketpad is stuck.
There is a somewhat easy method to determine which is at fault though, if you are mechanically inclined, or even confident to pull the back off with guidance.
**Unplug the unit from the wall or turn off the breaker (40amps)...safety first**
The keypad connects to the timer by way of whats called a "ribbon connector" or "molex connector", if you disconnect the keypad from the timer then restore power wait at least 40-60 seconds and the "F0" returns, you need the control/timer. If no error occurs, re-connect the ribbon connector, restore power and then if the "F0" returns, its the keypad/control panel.

I bought an oven thermometer and it indicates that
Hello,
It sounds as if an element in the oven is not working do check again that the oven thermometer is on same scale as the oven settings farenheit or centigrade. Most likely it is an element fault.
Hope I helped.
This is an electric convection oven
I am by no means an expert, but I believe the only thing differenty in a convection oven vs a regular oven is that there is a fan to conduct the heat quicker and more evenly. It has to do with heat tranfer rate. I can't imagine why aluminum foil would cause any problem.
Oven/Broiler fails th heat
Sounds like a bimetal switch is blown. first I would check SWITCH LIMIT BIMETAL next the LIMIT SWITCH-UPPER(LOCK)
Too check them first trip the breaker so you don't have power to the oven, then you will have to take the oven out of the wall..next remove the top cover. then in the center-front there are two round bimetal switchs with two wires coming out of them..remove the wires and check them with an ohm meter both should have continuity across them ...if no continuity you have a bad switch. let me know what you find out..
Oven Light Will Not Shut Off - GE Range Oven Model: PS968SP1SS
If you have already replaced the Hi-Amp Door Switch on your GE Range Oven (Model: PS968SP1SS), but the oven light still will not turn off, there are a few additional steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
- Check the light switch: Ensure that the light switch is functioning properly. It is usually located near the oven door frame or control panel. Press the switch manually to see if the light turns on and off. If it is not working, you may need to replace the light switch.
- Inspect the light socket: Examine the light socket for any signs of damage or corrosion. If the socket appears to be damaged, you may need to replace it.
- Verify the wiring connections: Check the wiring connections between the light socket, the Hi-Amp Door Switch, and the main control board. Ensure that all connections are secure and properly connected. Loose or faulty wiring can cause the light to stay on.
- Test the main control board: As you suspect, a faulty main control board could also be the cause of the issue. You can try resetting the control board by turning off the power to the oven at the circuit breaker for a few minutes and then turning it back on. If the light still does not turn off, it may indicate a problem with the control board that requires replacement.
If you have performed these troubleshooting steps and the light still won't turn off, it would be advisable to contact GE customer support or a qualified technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose the problem more accurately and recommend the appropriate solution.
