Oregon Scientific MEEP Kids Tablet - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How do i unlock parent block
If this question is about a Meep Tablet, there is no 'lock' as part of the Meep unless someone has installed a 3rd party program. You will need to register and use the parent portal to adjust the permissions to allow various uses. If you are not able to register, contact OSI for assistance: 800-853-8883.

How do i play films on my tv using a usb port?
Is this question about watching movies made on the Meep on your TV? As I believe this has changed along the way, the OSI call center would be best able to answer that question.

I registered my childs meep tablet with my email address, how do i stop my emails from showing on his tablet , cant find anything in settings
I am guessing that this actually involves your GooglePlay account and not the Meep parent portal account, as all Meep parent accounts use a parent's email and the emails don't go to the tablet in any way, other than through the Meep Together parental contral app which would involve a password to access. We have had people use their personal Gmail accounts for the Meep's GooglePlay and have this happen. This is why it's recommended to create a new Gmail account just for the Meep. The best thing to do is Open GooglePlay and change the account, creating a new one.

My meep tablet keeps saying times up when trying to open games
If you are receiving a message on your Meep of 'Times Up!', please try the following steps:
1. Register your Meep. Many of the capabilities of the Meep require the parent account to exist which puts the Meep into our system.
2. Adjust your parental settings to allow for times of use. You must set a time limit for every type of allowed activity and then save those settings. If you did set up permissions and you have the Times Up message, check that your settings are the way you set them and haven't been changed.
3. Update your Meep to our latest firmware version using our Meep Ota App available in the Meep Store and through Google Play. Earlier operating versions are linked to the Times Up issue.
If you still have a Times Up message:
1. It could be an issue within your browser in that it's retaining old settings and not updating them. Try clearing the browser cache and/or disabling extensions within your browser. Another option is our Meep Together smartphone app which can also be used to adjust parental settings instead of the portal website.
2. It could be your Meep is not connecting at this time to our servers thus not being able to receive the updated settings. Check that you show a green dot which means you are connecting to us or send a Private Message with your serial # and we can check the connection from our side.
3. Another option that bypasses servers is that you can update the settings right from the Meep's own parental control interface, assuming you are on version 2.1. Additionally, within the parental app on the Meep, you can reset the timer for the Meep with the reset button, the small circular icon in the upper right hand corner of the time management screen. Once reset, you can adjust the settings as you wish.

My meep not star
I'm not sure I understand what is going on here. If the tablet will not boot up to the Home screen, that is an issue for the OSI call center. If functions seem 'blocked' that could be related to the parent account. You do need to register the tablet and use the portal to adjust the permissions. For assistance with registration, the OSI call center can help.

How to delete pictures
The best way to delete pictures is the same as any Android device. Touch the image icon gently and hold your finger still for a few seconds until you see an X. Move your finger and slide the image to the X.

Everything keeps getting erased on my meep
The best remedy here is to perform a factory reset through the Settings menu to clear out any file corruptions. You should also check that you have the latest firmware version which at this time is 2.1.3. If the issue continues, you'll want to contact the OSI call center.

Meep will not connet to wifi
Here is the remedy for that error:
We've heard a few reports of Wifi connectivity issues recently, among them 'Authentication error'. If you receive this message, our recommended remedy is to remove all Wifi connection information from your Meep, turn off your Meep, reboot your router, then turn on your Meep and re-add the Wifi information. Follow these steps exactly in this order to resolve this error message:
1. Remove all Wifi network information from the Meep's settings
2. Reboot your router
3. Re-add the Wifi network information to the Meep's settings
4. Reboot the Meep.

My meep wont play youtube its showing a black screen
First suggestions would be to check that your firmware is current (latest version is 2.1.3) and to install an AppKiller program. If your Meep is full, you might want to consider a factory reset (done through the Settings menu) to clear out any file corruptions. Other than that, this is a matter for the OSI call center.

Tablet will not let me in
There are two things to try for this issue. The first is to reboot the Meep using the power switch. The other is to press in the reset button on the backside of the tablet. If neither of these helps, then you'll want to contact the OSI call center.

Oregon scientific meep power button
OSI does not repair power buttons and opening your Meep tablet will void any remaining warranty. Having said that, some people have reported that they've opened their Meep and fixed the switch themselves. You might try a Google or YouTube search for their advice.
