Rinnai RHFE-1004FA 38,400 BTU Energy Saver Ductless Heater - LP Gas - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Rinnai 1004 F Error Code 11
Code 11 is that the unit is trying to light but does not sense a flame after 5 seconds. Usually means you have run out of gas if you are bottled gas. Check your bottles are turned on if you are on LPG, you might need to change over manually. Have you anything else on gas?

Error code 11 on my rinnai
A code 11 also means that it might not be getting any gas. On thr right side of the unit you will find a small door. open it up and make sure the valve is in the open position. If it is, you should contact your gas company to come and diagnose what is going on. The Rinnai is not a do it yourself fix it type of heater.

Totai heater wont stay on after lit
Without a pilot flame sensor signal the pilot light will not stay on and the heater won't work. Try Replacing the pilot flame sensor, the pilot flame burns on to it and it connects to the valve. It looks like a wire.

My gas wall heater only stay lit for about 5mins. Easy to restart.
First thing to try is to check the flue to see if it is blocked or even partially blocked. This type of flue assembly exhausts burnt gases from the heater and another section draws fresh air in to the heater to be mixed and burnt with the gas.
the centre of the flue is the exhaust section and the outer section of the flue is the fresh air intake section.
removing the flue cowl will allow a visual inspection of the flue for any blockages.
If the flue is a long run then a plumber may need to be called to disassemble the flue for a closer inspection.

The top red light flashes and then after a while it turns off and both lights flash red with temp 14 flashing also
Hi Karen,
If my description of what your heater is doing please read through to the end.
The heater is turned on and a room temperature is selected.
You can hear the noise of a small fan start, which shortly after the heater starts.
After a short period of time the heater stops and the red led begins to flash and shuts itself down.
This type of heater has a balanced flue, which means it draws air in one pipe and exhausts it out another.
Have the balanced flue checked for blockages, the problem will most likely be in the flue pipe which draws the outside cool air into the heater and not the flue pipe which blows out the hot air.
it may be full of cob webs or something else which restricts the air flow to the heater.
A service person can perform a quick test to prove the above theory. At the rear of the heater there are two pipes, one is an insulated metal pipe and the other is plastic pipe.
Disconnect the plastic pipe from the flue box and restart the heater.
If the heater runs normally this will confirm that there is a blockage.

My Rinnai 1004F giving me error code 99
This fusible link may be open. Try jumpering the two leads and see if the unit operates. If it does replace the fusible link. Do not operate the unit without the fusible link for an extended period. It is a safety device and is there for a reason. Hope this helps.

You should be able to get the flue kit from any Rinnai resellers. There are many different flueing options existing for Rinnai Energysaver depending on where you wish to install it (by a licensed gas fitter only of course).Depending on what flue kit you need for your own situation you could be looking anywhere between $150 to $800 (AUD).Go on their website for a list of resellers.

Rinnai 1004 - Temp on thermostat reads 10 deg cooler than actual, keeps running
Behind the unit near the floor level, is a yellow wire with a black bulb at the end. This is the actual sensor for returning air. If there is cool air infiltrating the area where it is located, it will keep the unit running until the return air reaches temperature. You could also have a bad sensor but highly unlikely. Make sure there is no air infiltration influencing the sensor. Also, you can unclip the sensor and pull out a few more inches of wire to locate it higher up away from the floor. Tie it up with a wire tie.
Rinnai it testing a remote thermostat but as of yet, there is no plans to offer one.

Why the bulbs are so common in villages, while in cities we use CFL and LED lamps?
Yes,
people are still using incandescent bulbs in villages. This maybe
because they are not aware of it or they are not able to afford it.
Though the use of CFLs or LEDs will benefit them in the long run, they
are not educated about the importance of energy saving therefore; they
tend to always buy normal bulbs only. However it could be that outside
of the metro areas, power generation rates are government subsidized, so
there is not much incentive to switch over to save money. The older
bulbs will no longer be manufactured starting next year, so eventually
the village stores won't have them to sell to customers as warehouse
supplies deplete.Energy Saving LED
