The Yaesu FT727R does not have any internal fuse that I know of. Straight from the Battery + terminal it goes to the on/off switch (that is coupled to the volume control). From the switch it goes to circuitry (PCB). Incidentally, it is the battery that normally has a thermal switch/fuse that cuts off when a certain temperature is reached (when charging).

Other than check the battery terminals/contacts for corrosion and do a little abrasive cleaning, am afraid you'll have to open the unit for a look and see. Should you be interested, a schematic diagram is available here.

Good luck and kind regards.

Here's a link to the user manual - http://images.kenwood.eu/files/prod/1567/5/TK-3301_Instruction_Manual_B62-2154-20.pdf

I did a quick scan and could not find the answer in it, but it does give a lot of information about programming the radio.

Unless you want to go to the expense of buying a programming cable and the software, take it to a dealer/shop and have them program it. It's illegal for you to program a commercial radio.

I found the manuals at:

This radio is a UHF radio but it doesn't saw on the site what the frequencies are or the type of antenna connection, BNC, SMA, ?
The manual shows 464.5 MHz to 467.925 MHz so an antenna for 464 - 468 MHz would do.

Manual also at: http://kenwoodusa.com/
Contact form at: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Contact/
See if they have a replacement antenna for you.

Hi Stuart,

no audio from the 7e???

You mean no audio from the internal speaker.

I suggest you play around with the volume control a few times to see if this sorts out the issue, if not, then there may be a speaker and or speaker wiring issue. In that case it will need a techie to resolve the problem.

I hope this has answered your query.
