Not a solution, but a problem. I bought a 2078 from Big Lots 2mo. ago. Friday night, nothing. Checked plugin breakers, etc. Finally disaasmblrd the entire thing and checked every led, circuit, etc, and found nothing out of place or burnt. Now What? Taking it back to Big Lots today in a million pieces. Hope they can take a joke. Really like the outfit but need it to work.

Have it serviced by a registered gas technician. The law prevents you from doing it yourself.

Everyday contamination will make smells but these should disappear after an hour or so of being switched on. I don't know why but electric fires (switched off) seem an attractive place for dogs to mark their territory when nobody is watching...

If it smells like something burning or scorching, perhaps that is exactly what is happening. Electric fires demand a lot of current so any electrical connection in the supply that is less than perfect will create heat and heated junction boxes, power outlets and suchlike do create a variety of odours when they begin to cook.

You probably could but hardly wise in my opinion. Propane has more carbon content and would produce more carbon monoxide and have a greater potential for being dangerous if the converter failed, though flueless heaters should be used only when the room is a good size and has at least the minimum required ventilation and if the heater is serviced regularly the danger would be minimised...

I strongly suggest you contact the manufacturer or a dealer about your question but if I was faced with the choice, if there was an external wall to the room requiring heat, I would consider a balanced flue heating appliance.

I usually means that the heaters overheating, if you replace the spark plug all the filters I would look into the fan. Im guessing you unplugged it already for 20 mins
