How long will my four aa batteries last in my walkie talkie

Typically you can expect the AA batteries to last about 18 hours using the 5-5-90 rule. (5% of the time your are transmitting, 5% receiving, and 90% standby) If you transmit/receive more than this the time the radio would go would be shorter. Best regards.

Oops, misplaced my manual for

bobduffy39,

Channels are selected by tapping the center button once then using the arrows. The next tap of the center takes you to the CTCSS, DCS, and other functions follow. When scanning simply tap the transmit button and it should stop on the selected channel. Channels 8-14 are FRS channels at 500mw. These are the preferred channels to use for most people. 1-7and 15-22 are considered GMRS and requires a FCC License. Many people have been known to use these channels without having the license. This form of pirating is not recommended. I have included these links which could be of help to you.

My Midland xtra talk lxt 320 is not working

Try replacing the batteries with a good set of alkalines. The standard batteries that come with these radios are of poor quality and get weak very shortly after purchasing these radios. The radios will have the symptoms you described when the batteries are weak. At least this has been my experience having these radios.

Have it on cannel 4 04 but VOX is in the upper

The manual isn't specific, but your VOX feature likely works only with an optional external mic. To turn this feature off for normal use,
- Press MENU four times (display will show VOX)
- Select oF by pressing the up or down arrow key
- Push the PTT button to confirm and return to normal operation
