LG W1941S-PF Monitor Questions & Answers
I am using an LG W1941S PF monitor, after using 2
Hi, I would check with the repair shop that replaced the panel as it should register as 1366x768. The repair shop could have put in a different resolution panel and controller that didn't match the original and that's why you aren't seeing the 1366x768 option. Also worth noting is that often you can buy a new monitor of the same or better for less than what it costs to have it repaired. For example you can get a 20" scepter 1600x900 monitor from Amazon for $70.
Windows detected my monitor as generic non pnp
Hi,I see you are having issues with you LG monitor. What type of video card do you have on your computer? if I may ask.And also did the LG Monitor come with a disc to install the Monitor. The VGA means it is using VGA a a mode or type of cable connection for the Video, what cable are you using? are you using an HDMI connection for the Monitor/LCD or is it the Blue Cable on both ends if it is the Blue Cable then that is using VGA so it will say on VGA meaning it detects the video connection from that cable. Are you asking because this shows every time you turn the LCD monitor ON , is that correct, if that is the reason it is normal. The question I see is incomplete? and when you? what happens?windows detected my monitor as generic non pnp monitor and when i installed the inf file for lg monitor and updated and rebound to generic non pnp monitorit says device on vga and when i

Hello aruntkiller,
Welcome, and thank you for using FixYa!
To answer your question: This issue brings your attention to the Power Supply Board. If you are skilled enough to trust your confidence, you can open the Monitor up and check the Power Supply Board for "buldging" capacitors.
This means the capicitors are to weak to support the circuit, and will cause an "open" in the circuit. Once the circuit is open, the monitor shuts down.
If you find bad capacitors, and trust your soldiering skills, you can remove the bad capacitor(s) and search online or at a local Radio Shack for replacements. Most of the time it will be a 15V 1000mf Cap. I normally replace these with 25v 1000mf caps. Gives a little more "burn-out" resistance to the circuit, and you can cut back on your Bright and Contrast settings.
Have a great day!
I have 2 lg 1941s
hi,
First of all check the power supply board for any budged capacitor. Its a common problem in lcd . If found any budged capacitor replace the same will solve the problem. If there is no such capacitor then ,
You have to check the back light inverter board of your tv. If the inverter transformer in the back light inverter is faulty then this board will overload the powersupply and result in shutdown. there is no repair possible with the inverter board. you have to replace the board.
Have adde the picture of Budged capacior for you reference.
OK
No power on
If the power plug is well conected at both the monitor and on at the wall socket. Then it could be that the capacitors have died.
What you would want to do, and it is worth trying, is to try another 3 pin power cord. These power cords do fail. So therefore it is also possible that your power cable has died.
Try the one from your computer's power supply.
Take care!
