Epson Stylus NX105 All-In-One Printer Questions & Answers
When I try to change
1. Turn on your Epson Stylus NX100 Series printer. Your printer should be plugged in and connected to your computer.
2. Lift open the scanner and prop it up with the support bar. Press the stop button on your printer. The print head will move along the printer and will stop to allow you to change cartridges.
3. Squeeze the tab on the cartridge that needs to be replaced and remove the cartridge by lifting it straight up. Dispose of the used cartridge immediately.
4. Shake your new cartridge several times before removing it from the package. Remove the cartridge from the package without touching the green chip. Take the yellow tape off the bottom of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into the holder by pressing until you hear it lock into place.
5. Release the support on the scanner and put the scanner back into its original position. Press the stop button to let your printer know that you have changed the cartridge. It may take up to two minutes for your printer to be ready to use. When the "On" light stops flashing and remains on, you may begin to use your printer
NOTE: Beware that you must have all ink cartridges full because Epson uses color even when only printing black and white (lots of comments here about that scam!!)
Two days ago, I was able to print documents

I have an epson stylusNx105 and I got ink today
Some believe this problem is caused by Epson changing the language between your computer and the ink cartridge chip when software (firmware) is downloaded during periodic updates from Epson. This may or not be true. If it is then there is no fix other than replacing the aftermarket product with new OEM cartridges which you will have to pay full retail price for. However, sometimes an issue like this can be solved by merely resetting your printer. Try this: turn on your printer so you have access to the ink cartridges then remove them. Be careful as they can leak (suggest you place on paper towel until you reinstall them.) Then, turn off the printer and, importantly, unplug your printer from the electrical outlet. You are trying to reset your printer and this can only be done by taking all the electricity out of the line to your printer. You may also want to disconnect your USB port from your computer and close down your computer as well. Then, after waiting about 10 minutes, plug your printer in, reconnect your printer to your computer then wait until you get a message from your printer (may receive on your computer screen if you do not have a digital display on your printer) telling you to reinstall your ink cartridges. Go ahead and install your ink cartridges and see if the printer will now recognize them by printing out something that has black, cyan, magenta and yellow on the page. Good luck with it. I've known it to work about 50% of the time. Otherwise, you are going to have to live with paying full retail price for the ink. Lastly, please don't buy another Epson printer. Epson is very aggressive in aggravating the workability of aftermarket ink with their printers. We recommend HP, Canon or Brother brand printers as they are a quality product and their aftermarket ink cartridges are much more reilable. Most people do not take into account the cost of "feeding" ink to their printers when they buy one. Please consider spending a little more on a quality printer that accepts aftermarket cartridges that are much less expensive and, over the life of the printer, more than compensate you for your added investment in a quality printer. We like the HP 8000 or HP 8500 series printers. Their 940XL cartridges are $25.99 (aftermarket price) and deliver 2200 pages of print based on a 5% ink laydown. Your Epson 69 cartridges are going to cost you $18.79 (retail) for 245 pages of print. When you do the math, you quickly realize the cost savings plus you can buy a reliable HP 940XL remanufactured cartridge that works! Good luck and happy printing.
