When I try to charge
1) Hand oil can cause a film on your battery contacts. Clean your battery contacts on both the radio and the charger with a pencil eraser and try seating the radio/battery on the charger again. Be certain the radio is turned off.
2) It is possible your battery is too low to charge. A form of jump starting would be to let the battery set on the charger for more than 3 hours to see if the light problem clears.
3) It is possible you have a bad or shorted battery. Try another known good battery on the charger to see if the charger reacts correctly with a solid red light at the beginning of a normal charge cycle.

We have about fourty HT1000
Since you have such a large quantity with the same problem, it is possible if these radios have been reprogrammed, retuned, or even possibly had a power surge while attached to their chargers. These would be the items we would investigate first. Sometimes a well-meaning programmer can clone a problem into multiple radios.
Send or take several (a good sample) of your radios to a Motorola dealer for more analysis.
Best regards.

Take the radios to a Motorola radio service shop. If you do it yourself it will cost quite a bit to acquire the interface box, cables, and program to do the job, and you'll have to spend a fair amount of time learning how it all works, and then you still might mess things up. These radios are no longer supported by Motorola but most shops can do reprogramming for you anyway.
What model mobile motorola radios
Most Motorola portables manufactured during the past five years or so are capable of being programmed for narrowband operation. A definite exception is the Saber which is strictly a wideband radio.
The narrowband-capable versions of the HT1000 have a model number ending in "DN." Some of the previous models ending in "CN" may or may not be narrowband-capable.
More in-depth information may be found at www.batlabs.com or at http://batboard.batlabs.com.
How to narrow band the
Some HT1000 are programmable to narrowband, while sadly others will need to be retired. See your local Motorola dealer for more details.

Will the light turn green on the ht1000 charger
It depends on the type of charger, a rapid-charger would charge a battery in one hour or less and the green light would come on when battery fully charged. A slow charger will take up to 16 hours to charge a battery and has red light only.
I have a HT1000 with a remote shoulder mic and a
In the programming software their is a field that allows you to either turn off the alert tones or make them lower then your volume level. Most of the time if any of my customers are using a ear bud or headset I turn off all of of the "beeps".

How do i program my motorola mts 2000 flashport
Your Motorola MTS2000 is not a scanner but a high-end two-way radio. It requires a computer, special interface box (called a RIB, for Radio Interface Box), the proper cable from the radio to the RIB, and the programming software called RSS (Radio Service Software.)
This is much more difficult than a scanner to program and if not done properly can cause the radio to automatically transmit on frequencies that you are not authorized to use.
Try calling your local Motorola dealer and ask them if they will program it for you for receiving only. They will either flatly refuse or they will be happy to charge you a service fee. Some places are more willing than others.
It turns on but keeps beeping
The constant beep means that the channel you are on is not programmed. Try moving the channel knob to other channels. If it stops beeping, you are on a channel that is programmed. It is possible that none of the channels are programmed though.
Take it to a motorola dealer and they can program it for you.
