Don't know your capabilities but if it were me I would open the phone and check the contacts for transmit button. Sometimes contacts get corroded and need cleaning or it just may be no connection at all and a adjustment of the contacts will resolve the issue.

Hi Brian,

Yes they bear the Motorola brand, but look for where they were made and you'll find CHINA.

These are made en-mass under license for a fixed price and of DUDIOUS standard, firstly like any radio made in China, they eat batteries if they are hand held, Oricom is another terible brand both HH and base versions.

Support is availabe if you speak the language, manuals are available in CHINGLISH, and problems with Chinese made radios continue to fill sites like this, looking for help.

I too got stung with chinese made monsters, I was stupid enough to buy three different brands and within 3 months of working them, they began to fail, and the warranty is useless outside of China.

Sorry, Brian but you like myself have a lemon.

Best advice, do as I did, spend a few extra dollars on ebay and buy well known brands made anywher but China.

A replacement antenna is not available from Motorola. You can re-coiling the wire and placing something over it to simulate the original antenna, or wrap it in electrical tape. Exposed the coil will oxidize and the antenna will begin to fail and have shortened range.

The other option is to get another of the same model from ebay and use it for a replacement or parts for your existing unit.

Best regards.

We couldn't find your specific manual. However, the following two manuals may be of help, as they are the same product line. One being an early model, and the later being a newer model.
