Try installing the latest audio driver.

Check in device manager to see if the computer can detect it or if it shows a yellow ! or ? To get to device manager

• Right Click on Computer and click Properties
• Select Device Manager on the left, or in Win Xp click hardware tab and then device manager

If it doesn't show up at all I would say the drive is bad and needs to be replaced. Type your exact model number into ebay plus dvd drive and you should be able to find one cheap.
Let me know what you find out and if you need help replacing the drive, just comment back and I will walk you through it. Usually it will just be held on with one screen located on the back close to the DVD drive door but about 3-4" toward the middle.

If you have cleaned/deleted some files and your laptop does not boot up then some important system files may have been deleted.You most likely need to install Windows again to get a working computer.

sounds like a virus either way a reinstall will sort it back up any documents and pics first

Grab a small paper clip and then press the little hole with the tip of your paper clip. This little hole is found near the eject button of your disc drive, press it in and it will pop open.

Have you checked the DC jack which usually comes of the motherboard (it is soldered on).
This is a key problem when it comes to laptops

What operating system do you have ?

Try reinstalling the Toshiba drivers that came with your computer. You need to have the original CD drivers for your Toshiba Satellite.

If you do not have these drivers, try downloading them from www.toshiba.com look for your specific model and have them ready before uninstalling the driver for the CD rom

The product key is associated with the MS Office 2013 software, not the specific MS Windows version of Operating System - unless the MS Office lists a minimum version of OS ie: "Windows 8.0" In this case, it would not install on Windows 7.
