is ground on capacitor hooked up to gnd on amplifier ? if so it could be ya problem . ground cap to chassis and amp to chassis. try amp WITHOUT CAP and see what happens . Cap may also need charging with a resistor first . I'd remove cap(for now ) and retest amp for normal operation. Go from there.

I used to have a similar model, vs1405, and it was advertised to have 600w max. Its rms ratings were 260w bridged @ 4ohm. and 80x2 @ 4 ohm.
So I really wouldnt expect much.
I would personally suggest the HiFonics Brutus. Very nice amps for the price, and have TONS of power.

hey i had this happen to me, pull the deck out and move the rca cables to a different channel and see if that does not fix it. i blew out my sub pre out channel in my deck and had to use the rear pre outs. try this and let me know what you come up with. good luck
