I have a Motorola elite sliver and know it won't turn on and it doesn't want to connect I want to know if I can fix it thanks

Your radio needs to be turned off when on the charger, and be certain you are using a rechargeable Motorola battery. The charger will not charge AAA batteries or rechargeable style AAA batteries. If the light does not illuminate on your charger, try the radio in a different charger and see if it does. This will tell you if it is the radio or the charger. One further note, you should clean your charge contacts with a pencil eraser to insure they are making good connection.

Astro Spectra radios are only programmable using Motorola proprietary software. (Subscription based from Motorola) They do not supply instructions other than what is within the help section of the software.

Check your code. It is possible you have the code set differently between your radios.

It might be that the person or persons on the other end have radios with t Eliminator Code , I call it a pl tone, anyway, if they have theirs turned on they will not be able to here you, this radio that you are using does not have this option. It is like a privacy code that if you dont send the same code they wont here you. Like a locked coded squelch. I am not sure about this Motorola device but usually, it's possible to listen to music even on cheap chinese BlueTooth headsets.

This is likely because your radio's battery has lost enough power that it cannot fully power the headset and the radio both. Or there is a component in the headset or radio which is getting overheated and will not function properly. Try the headset on another radio at the time of failure and see if it is still in failure mode on the other radio. Or try changing the battery to a fully charged battery and see if the headset then functions correctly. These test will help you determine which component is failing.

Schematics were never released to dealers for the TalkAbout line of radios.

The FCC ID won’t help you find the info you’re looking for, you’ll need to find the model number and possibly the software version number. This info should be on the back of the unit or maybe inside the battery cover.

It requires the radio programming program. You must take it to a dealer. It will cost a bit to be reprogrammed, call in advance.

Entering Front Panel Feature and Button Configuration Mode If your radio is turned ON, turn it OFF. Press and hold the side programmable button 1, and turn your radio ON. A tone is heard, indicating that your radio is in Feature and Button Configuration Mode. The indicator illuminates and the "BCKLIGHT" is displayed on the radio LCD screen. Whenever the radio is turn on, it initiates a self-test routine which checks the RAM, EEPROM hardware and EEPROM checksum. If Self Test passes, the green LED flashes once and a Self-Test Pass Tone is generated.
