Sounds like a heating problem! First, make sure that NOTHING is clogging the vents on any side of the TV...Next, dust could be holding the heat inside the case, so get a source of clean, dry air and blow the interior of the set out!

ok, I need clarification, did you install a new screen? Or something else?

I've had the same problem with a 32" model LC320EM82S. All the Emerson TV ( no matter what size ) are having the same issue.
I'm sure with your TV, the green light is blinking before the TV automatically turns OFF. Basically, the TV is trying to power up the screen and has failed. Protection mode turns the TV OFF to prevent other parts from being damaged inside.
My solution for fixing my TV was replacing one bad inverter transformer of six on the Backlight Inverter/Power Board. Here is what my board looks like:
You can see the six inverter transformer on the bottom of the board. It's what supplies power to the screen. Your board may look similar. You can sometimes find a whole replacement board over the internet for a good price. Shopjimmy.com is a good place to start. Just start searching by your TV model number.
If you have some electronic experience, you can repair the board itself by finding a Service Manual over the internet for less than $20. It will have all the part numbers, schematics, and diagrams you need. I would investigate the inverter transformer for your problem.

I have the same TV using a Philips universal remote control you need to be directly in front of the power light on the TV and 3 ft or closer to program the right code to work. The company uses funai codes mine worked with code 0520

There are three parts to the stand plus a number of screws needed. The base holder is 1EM222005 (part B9). The stand cover is 1EM122413 (part A9). However this site doesn't have the base plate 1EM122276 (B7). PacParts may have the base plate: http://www.pacparts.com/part.cfm?MFG=GFM&PART_NO=1EM122276 .I hope this helps. Power supply--some suggestions here if able to safely open the set: ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good. 2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signs of damage you can see---burnt parts etc. 3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down the problem. 4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set. Answers to issues: 1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the generic ones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don't put a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason. 2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses a standby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined and some not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on the power/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--I attach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flat and have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating (saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs 7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail. 3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not. 4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over. If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in this photo.
