You have to address the router box. And enter the setup page. How ?????.
First write down the router brand and model number. Also the MAC address which is important.
Then go online and check with the manufacturer or Internet in genral .

you are looking for a number formatted like (196.256.0.1) . If you then check manufacturer or Internet in general for intrusions to sign on to set up. As most boxes require a username like (admin)

PROBABLY, somewhere, whomever sold you that adaptor PROBABLY said something about its power requirements. It may not have been easy to understand, but it was probably there.
But... that doesn't get us any nearer a solution for your problem. For taht... there's WalMart, where you can buy a four-port POWERED USB hub (buy one that comes with its own "wall-wart" power supply).
Oh - you're in the UK. Do you have Wal-Mart there? If not, wherever you buy electronics stuff (including amazon.co.uk), they'll have a powered USB hub.
