describe to me your set-up. how many speakers there ohm ratings and how they are wired to the amp. i.e parallel, series... sounds like you are having an ohm overload. the wiring of the setup is causing the ohm level to drop below the amp's recommendation. let me know and ill get you fixed

You probably won't unfortunately. It's a $150 speaker. That means that the chances of having a service manual available are slim. Your best bet is checking the amp chip and the power supply. If anything is obvious you will find it.

All speakers in a car need to be hooked up to some kind of amplifier. However, if the current radio has a good enough amplifier, this is not mandatory.
