Could be a dirty laser lens. You can clean it if you are confident enough to remove the cover and have a go. Just carefully wipe over it with a cotton bud. Not to hard though as it is supported on very sensitive suspension which allows it to move up and down to compensate for uneven/warped disks.

U have the tv original remote,Yes tries that too,some time it is not from the tv DTV converter board Closed Captioning it is on but the tv set itself Close Caption like CC 1,2,3... it is on,it must be shut all to off only by a tv original remote like pressing the CC button on the remote couple times for all CC 1,2,3... to all off.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote to used.

You can always try a Logitech Harmony remote. The model 300 is pretty inexpensive. You program it by using your computer and connect the Harmony with a USB cable to update it.

Only opening and touching the spinning DVD won't make set to get repaired. If DVD does not work there must have some other reasons. you have only opend its tray to take the disc out. OK. But this process won't make any harm to its internal circuits or components. There may be some fault to the DVD section of that combo early. In most combos, DVD section is the first gets in trouble. You have so much tension because the set is not your own.
If disc tray mechanism has some trouble, the DVD will not load well and it won't work properly. There are mainly two reasons for this fault. The first one is loading belt itsef. The second one is the gear wheel mechanism. Most possible fault is the first one itself. But without opening the TV and taking out the DVD mechanism replacing belt is impossible.

It is either dirty lens, or the laser control circuit. Try cleaning the lens, if that doesn't work, then with most player you replace the whole drive unit.

Lens can be cleaned first using a lens cleaner like this:Lens Cleaner for CDs/DVDs/Game ... and Lens Cleaner Cleaning disk - CD / DVD - PC.

If that does not work, then you can try accessing lens and cleaning directly with isopropyl alcohol and cotton sticks.Here a description.

If still no luck, then the DVD drive is defective.

The laser assembly pickup may have dirty lens, or the assembly has become defective, either way it must be taken apart for inspection. If you can access the laser lens, take a Q-Tip and dab it in rubbing alcohol and carefully clean in a circular motion, allow several minutes to dry.

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, list of Dealers for spare part supplies and Driver downloads as required.

Make sure you are on the correct input. Usually there is a input or source button on the TV remote. Put a DVD in and hit the play button on the front of the DVD player so you can see the movie when you know you got it right.

Thanks for using FixYa. The issue is with the inverter board going bad and needs to be replaced, also check if the inverter is getting 20vdc from the power supply. You’ll have to open the back of the unit to check all this, hope you understand this cannot be corrected through menus.
