I have a Westinghouse 46" LTV-46w1 HD and it turned out to be the T-Con board which I found a used replacement board at Shop Jimmy’s. It cost around $70.00 with shipping. My TV was purchased in 2006 and it running better than ever… again!

Initially, the described problem with the Vizio VW32L HDTV10A would indicate a power supply problem. While this could be nothing but a fuse that blew, a faulty cord / plug or even no power to the outlet, it could also be caused by failure of the power supply to fully turn on either:

• auto-protect has kicked in to prevent further damage;
• the power supply itself has faulted and could not produce sufficient voltage to operate the unit.

This is then a hardware fault and would require that the unit be opened up to effect repairs.

Options then are:

• consider a DIY (do-it-yourself) repair if and only if comfortable working with electronic components & circuitry, use of a DVM/VOM, a soldering iron/station and safe practices with electrically powered devices. Access to a Service Manual or at the very least, a schematic diagram would be a necessity;
• should you be uncomfortable with a DIY, perhaps your best bet would then be to consult with and/or seek the services of an authorized Service Center (specially if still under some form of extended warranty) or a qualified professional.

Disconnect the Power cable and the Rca cable from the Tv and press and hold the power button of the Tv for Thrity seconds and release the button and then replug the cables back again and restart the Tv, it should work.

This depend on whether its a glass front or one of the perspex faces. Depending on the size of the chip and if its glass there are companies who specialize in using glass resins to repair chips. Windscreen repairers use this material.
If its perspex it is doubtful that any resing or glue will make it clear enough that you wouldn't notice it when viewing. It is possible also to have the whjole glass replaced, but it is not cheap. Insurance ( household) will cover this if you have it.

Check ur power source with other devices?Yes.than ur tv power supply board is dead.Replaced the power suply board will solved this problems.Tries wesites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

if you have comcast you can use your remote to change the tV program from cabke to DVD then change it back to cable. your image should come back.

sounds like power surge, could b many different things. your homeowners will cover if you call them and tell them it happened during storm hope this is helpfull

Does the backllght go out after a few seconds? Could still be a lamp or something else on the inverter boards. You could try used inverter boards from the same set with other problems (broken screen), Or a complete working backlight from another set but very delicate operation to swap the LCD display from one panel to another.

Sometimes TV's can, & do build up HUGE static charges on them, and if the area is dry, and there is carpet on the floor huge sparks of static electricity will arc out from TV, this is frightening, but relatively harmless, and happens infrequently, it happens due to the TV being at one potential, and the "Son" as another, charge is generated by walking across the carpet, and in TV it;s just a product of being "ON" When conditions are exactly right.... Zap.... touching any "Grounded" thing before approaching a TV is always a good idea. I have seen this and experienced this myself on a number of occasions, not always with TV's too. I assume it was static, due to the fact that you weren't also telling us your son was dead...If one got a huge arc and shock,from the mains, they seldom live to tell the tail. But static, just nips you, and you have a good story to tell. Now of course thats assuming that, that is what it was, in any event, please ensure you check over all cables for any damage or bare wires, replace if even slightest defect.

Here a way,u could test,if it the cable signal,tv Main tuner board have problem or the DVR box again.U have analog antena?Or go and a buy a digital antena.Reset ur tv to free air signal and use it for few hours,turn it off/on and see if u losing signal,require unplug,replug to get signal back.Two problems solved ur tv board or cable signal good or not?Than U know it the DVR box and have connecting problems.

Check for proper cable connection on back of TV if there is more than one cable connector, and that you are scanning for proper source like AIR for the DTV tunner if no DTV tunner in TV you will need a Box, and if you are a cable user make sure you are scanning for cable channels.
