need to know model and make ,but suspect thermal cut out on heater, if unit has been moved it need to settle before it will run 4 ot 6 hours.. i have seen good units been binned they just needed to rest.

Mine is 4 years old and the pump went within 8 months! The dryer has had 6 new pumps in total! It was last fixed 6 months ago and now playing up again! I dont even constantly use my dryer! I am very disappointed with Siemens now, my last dryer lasted me 10 years and it was constantly on the go when my children were young! Here comes, tomorrow I have got to book another repair! No more Siemens for me.

Check to make sure that your cycling thermostat is operating properly. Also make sure that drum is rotating. What it sounds like is that the machine has either an air flow problem or thermostat problem. Try running the machine with the vent off, only if it is electric, not gas dryer. Also check your blower to make sure it is tight on the motor shaft. That would impede air flow and cause overheating. There is a thermal cutout switch inside the back cover.Take the cover off, press the button, which should click. Put back cover on, and it should now work.
